WTM Logistics · Calgary refrigerated delivery

The most useful temperature instruction is the one that describes the product's actual transport requirement. When requesting refrigerated courier service in Calgary, give WTM that instruction in writing alongside the load and route. “Keep cold” is a starting point for a conversation, not a complete specification for a consignment.

Start with the product owner's instruction

Ask the producer or responsible product owner to state the required transport range or condition. Identify whether the shipment is chilled, frozen or requires another agreed controlled condition. Do not choose a universal setting merely because two products are described as perishable.

CFIA's transport guidance connects suitable conveyance temperature and humidity to the food being carried and calls for recording instruments where needed. Your own shipment brief should therefore identify both its required conditions and any transport evidence the buyer needs. Read the CFIA guidance.

Describe separate groups in a mixed order

For each group, list the product description, package count and instruction. State any incompatibility or need for separate handling. An example brief might distinguish chilled sealed cartons from a separately described frozen group; it should not imply they automatically share one setting.

Provide packed dimensions, gross weight and stacking restrictions as well. Temperature requirements alone do not tell dispatch whether the consignment fits a refrigerated Sprinter or needs a larger vehicle.

Distinguish location tracking from temperature evidence

Real-time GPS tracking shows shipment movement. A POD records the delivery handoff. Temperature monitoring or reporting addresses a different question about transport conditions. WTM's refrigerated service includes temperature-control capability, but the exact reporting needed for a particular shipment should be included in the agreed requirements.

Name the information your buyer expects, when it is needed and who should receive it. Do not assume a delivery signature is a temperature record or that every requested report is automatically displayed as a live portal feature.

Copy this plain-language booking brief

Use these fields in the request: product and package groups; required transport condition; pickup-ready time; pickup and delivery addresses; receiving window; handling restrictions; monitoring or reporting requirement; release contact; and receiving contact. Fill them from the actual order rather than reusing an unrelated consignment's settings.

For example, “prepared chilled sample cartons; use the producer's stated range; buyer appointment on the requested date; keep upright; reporting requirement attached” is more actionable than “small cold box.” The final request should replace the example with the supplier's real instructions.

Confirm the agreed requirement with the quote

Review the service description before approval and raise any missing instruction. WTM then confirms acceptance and the movement. Keep the quote and issued transport documents linked to the supplier reference. The product owner retains responsibility for the product specification; the courier follows the agreed transportation arrangement.

Frequently asked questions

Does a GPS tracking link prove the temperature of the goods?

No. Location tracking and temperature evidence answer different questions. Include the temperature reporting needed for the shipment in the request.

Should I choose a standard temperature for every food order?

No. Obtain the appropriate transport instruction from the producer or responsible product owner and identify separate requirements.

Put the details into your next refrigerated quote. Send WTM the pickup and delivery locations, packed shipment details, required temperature and deadline.
