Core operating geography

Three core regions. Route-specific planning.

WTM's core transportation network is built around Alberta, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories. The exact service, equipment and pickup plan can differ by community, shipment size and required timing.

AB

Alberta

Alberta is a core WTM operating region supporting freight, LTL, hot shot, courier and specialized transportation requirements.

  • Edmonton and surrounding industrial areas
  • Calgary and Southern Alberta
  • Central Alberta corridors
  • Northern Alberta and industrial destinations
  • Same-day pickup available from qualifying origins
BC

British Columbia

British Columbia forms part of WTM's core interprovincial network, with transportation evaluated according to the actual Alberta/BC or BC-origin shipment requirement.

  • Commercial and industrial freight
  • Selected interior and northern BC corridors
  • Vancouver-related corridors where applicable
  • Dedicated and consolidated options
  • Equipment selected from shipment requirements
NWT

Northwest Territories

WTM supports northern freight and delivery requirements into the Northwest Territories, including Yellowknife and other qualifying communities within the operating network.

  • Yellowknife transportation
  • Northern freight requirements
  • Commercial and industrial shipments
  • Special handling requirements reviewed before booking
  • Route conditions reviewed before confirmation

Geographic service model

Core coverage versus selected extended corridors.

WTM does not represent unrestricted city-to-city service across all of Canada. Alberta, BC and NWT are the core operating geography. Other major Canadian cities can be involved in selected relevant corridors when the specific lane fits WTM's network.

GeographyCoverage statusHow WTM treats the route
Alberta Core network Primary operating region. Service type, vehicle and pickup timing are matched to the individual shipment.
British Columbia Core network Core interprovincial geography with route suitability determined from origin, destination and equipment.
Northwest Territories Core network Northern transportation network including Yellowknife and qualifying NWT communities.
Vancouver Selected corridors Vancouver can form part of relevant WTM origin or destination corridors. Confirm the specific lane with dispatch.
Regina Selected corridors Selected origin or destination requirements can be reviewed where they connect appropriately with the WTM network.
Winnipeg Selected corridors Available only for selected relevant lanes rather than unrestricted service between every city pair.
Toronto / GTA Selected corridors Toronto and GTA origins or destinations can be reviewed for selected routes connected to WTM's operating network.
Montreal Selected corridors Montreal can be involved in selected relevant corridors. Dispatch must confirm the requested origin and destination.
Not sure whether your lane is covered? Send the pickup city, destination, cargo and required timing. WTM can confirm whether the shipment fits the operating network without implying blanket Canada-wide coverage.

Route feasibility

Coverage is more than a city name.

A route can be geographically inside the WTM network and still require shipment-specific planning. Dispatch reviews the pickup origin, destination, cargo size, equipment requirement, timing, loading readiness and site access before confirming the transportation plan.

01
Same-Day Pickup Same-day pickup is a WTM capability for qualifying shipments and origins. Actual timing depends on location, available vehicle position and required equipment.
02
Immediate Dispatch WTM confirms dispatch timing and pickup arrangements for each shipment. This does not create a universal immediate-pickup guarantee.
03
Special Handling Review Required handling and controlled conditions must be reviewed with dispatch before equipment is confirmed.
04
Proof of Delivery POD is available on request following completed delivery.
05
Equipment Matching Vehicle selection depends on load dimensions, weight, handling requirements and route.
06
Human Confirmation Online quote submission begins the review process. A shipment is accepted only after WTM confirms it.
