Let the florist specify the conditions
Different flower products and finished arrangements may need different handling. Provide the florist's transport instruction rather than applying a food-delivery temperature to every floral order. Identify any product or material that must not be exposed to a particular condition.
Describe whether the shipment is boxed wholesale stock, secured buckets or finished pieces. The equipment request should reflect the load as prepared for transport. Tell dispatch about containers with water and the need to keep them upright.
Measure the space around an arrangement
A tall display or wide centrepiece can require more floor space than its weight suggests. Measure the outer transport footprint and overall height. Disclose non-stackable items and any separation required between them so the quote accounts for usable vehicle space.
Provide stable packaging or supports appropriate to the goods. Ordinary courier handling does not include designing a support frame or repairing an arrangement. Explain any loading assistance needed while the booking is being arranged.
Send event deliveries to the right handoff point
For weddings, receptions or business events, identify the venue contact and the agreed delivery location. The event planner may not be the person present at the receiving entrance. Include the room, function name and time when the florist or venue team can take control of the shipment.
Delivery and floral installation are separate services. State whether the request is a handoff at receiving or involves additional agreed carrying. This allows the florist to organise the installation team without assuming the courier will set up the displays.
Plan wholesale and event work separately
A regular stem order arriving at a florist can fit a repeat receiving routine. A finished arrangement for a timed event has a more specific deadline and physical-handling profile. Quote each using its actual requirements rather than carrying over the details from a previous type of order.
WTM's tracking helps the booking customer follow the movement. After the handoff, the available POD provides a delivery record. Retain it with the florist's order or event reference so the transport can be identified later.
