WTM Logistics · Calgary–Lloydminster · Freight hotshot
WTM Logistics provides direct freight hotshot transport from Lloydminster to Calgary for accepted machining fixtures, prototypes and physical workpieces. When the receiving shop has a time-sensitive production slot, the shipment should arrive as an identifiable, prepared load with the right project reference. Transportation supports the machining plan; it does not replace the technical instructions exchanged between the businesses.
Dedicated direct freight · 24/7 dispatch · Equipment matched to the accepted load
Match the physical piece to the correct revision
Label the workpiece or its packaging using the agreed job and revision reference. Keep drawings, tolerances and confidential engineering information in the businesses’ authorised process. Any documents travelling physically should be protected and linked to the same job.
A prototype can look similar to an earlier version while requiring different work. The releasing team should verify the correct piece before the vehicle arrives rather than ask the driver to identify it from a technical drawing.
Protect the surfaces that matter
Explain which surfaces, edges or features must not contact other cargo or securing equipment. Package and support the workpiece accordingly. Provide the outside dimensions and weight of the complete crate or skid, including any fixture base.
State the permitted orientation and whether the load can be stacked. An awkward low-weight piece may need dedicated floor space for protection. The vehicle choice should reflect those restrictions, not only the weight entered on a quotation form.
Use the shop’s intake window
Ask the Calgary receiver when staff and handling equipment are available. A production booking does not necessarily mean the loading door is staffed continuously. Identify the person who can accept and move the unit once it arrives.
For example, a physical trial assembly may need to reach a subcontractor before its next setup. Quote that intake deadline alongside the actual ready time in Lloydminster. WTM can then assess a direct movement against the operational requirement rather than a general rush label.
Make return and onward movements separate decisions
The shop may complete the work later, change the packaging or send the item to a different authorised destination. Request a new movement once those facts are known. A round-trip quotation needs the expected waiting and release arrangements expressly described.
The WTM Customer Portal gives the booking team GPS visibility and available transport records. Keep the POD linked to the machining job, but let the receiving business issue its own technical acceptance and work-completion records. A signed delivery does not establish dimensional conformity.
Prototype hotshot questions
Can WTM carry a single non-stackable fixture?
Yes. Give the full dimensions, weight and handling restrictions so dispatch can select suitable equipment.
Can the driver choose the correct revision at pickup?
The releasing business should identify and authorise the exact item. Technical selection remains with your project team.
