Calgary ↔ Fort St. John · Freight hotshot

WTM Logistics quotes Fort St. John to Calgary freight hotshot using the complete dedicated movement. To compare prices properly, specify the load, equipment, release time and receiving arrangement first. For a replacement-and-return job, describe both legs instead of assuming that a southbound quote includes whatever later travels north.

Separate one-way and two-way shipment planning sheets beside a WTM enclosed van.

Compare the same equipment requirement

Give each quote provider the actual packed dimensions and gross weight. Include loading and unloading equipment, access constraints and any need for enclosed transport or a tailgate. A quote for dock-to-dock handling describes a different job from a ground-level collection at an FSJ yard.

Separate ordinary freight from temperature-controlled requirements. A refrigerated hotshot has its own service specification; it should not be treated as a interchangeable price comparison with an unheated or dry-freight vehicle.

Distinguish a dedicated leg from a waiting arrangement

A direct southbound hotshot can end at the Calgary receiving point. A job that waits at a workshop and collects a replacement later adds another activity. An outbound-and-return plan with a later release date may be two separate dispatches rather than one continuous trip.

Ask the supplier or workshop for the replacement's actual ready time. “It should be quick” is not a dependable basis for including waiting and a return journey in one price. WTM can quote the defined scope when the timing and loads are known.

Read the total alongside the service commitment

Confirm pickup, delivery, handling, any agreed waiting, surcharges and taxes. Ask how changes to the load or receiving address would affect the accepted quote. This keeps a lower headline amount from obscuring a narrower service.

Compare the delivery commitment as well as the charge. A flexible shared-freight option may cost differently because it does not provide exclusive hotshot movement. That can be a useful choice for nonurgent cargo, but it is not the same service offered at a competing price.

Retain the decision for the next shipment

Use the Customer Portal to review and approve the quotation, make payment and follow GPS tracking. Keep the invoice and POD with the accepted scope so future quotes can be compared against a real completed job.

Discuss WTM's recurring-shipment or funded-credit offers where applicable, keeping the two arrangements separate. The useful saving is on the service your business needs—not a different transport promise or an unquoted assumption about the return leg.

Frequently asked questions

Does a hotshot quote include the return journey?

Only when both legs and their requirements are expressly included. Otherwise request the return separately.

Can I compare LTL with hotshot to decide what fits?

Yes. Compare the different service commitments deliberately rather than treating shared freight and dedicated transport as identical quotations.

Give your team one place for shipping records

Use the WTM Customer Portal for new requests, quote decisions and payments. Follow active shipments with live GPS tracking, then find the issued bill of lading, delivery record and invoice in your account. Previous shipments remain available for reference.

WTM offers 10% off recurring shipments. A funded credit account separately offers up to 25% off eligible services. Confirm the applicable offer with your quote; the two offers are not automatically combined.
