WTM Logistics · Calgary–Fort McMurray · Southbound
Three records answer different questions on a refrigerated shipment from Fort McMurray to Calgary: the transport instruction says what was agreed, a temperature record describes the measurements actually captured, and the POD records the handoff. WTM customers should identify the records they need while requesting the service, not after the goods arrive.
Refrigerated Sprinters and 5-ton trucks · Product-specific transport instructions · Real-time GPS tracking
Start with a clear transport instruction
Provide the product description, required conditions, package count and any separation requirements. State who is responsible for product release and who can approve a change. Attach instructions to the identified consignment rather than relying on a generic note from an old shipment.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s preventive-control guidance addresses food-appropriate transport conditions and recording instruments where necessary. It is not evidence that a particular vehicle or product has been certified by CFIA.
Specify what measurement evidence is required
If your process needs temperature records, ask what monitoring and reporting arrangement can be provided for the accepted shipment. Identify who supplies any logger, what it measures and who retrieves the data. A cargo-space reading and a product-package reading are not automatically the same evidence.
Do not infer product temperature from a live location map. GPS tracking helps you follow movement and coordinate receiving; it does not measure the contents of a box. Use each record for the question it is designed to answer.
Give the receiving team a usable reference
The Calgary receiver needs the order or consignment identifier, package count and expected delivery details. Keep those identifiers consistent across the quote, product paperwork and transport record so the team can reconcile the arrival.
If an issue is noticed, record the actual observation and contact the responsible party. The carrier’s delivery receipt should not be treated as an automatic product-quality approval or a substitute for the food business’s acceptance procedures.
Retain the right records in the right places
Use the Customer Portal for issued BOLs, PODs, invoices and shipment history. Retain product documentation and any separately arranged temperature data according to your business process. Do not assume every external instrument report is automatically attached to the portal shipment.
Before approving the quote, compare the requested records with the agreed service. This gives operations, the buyer and accounts a common reference without overstating what any one document proves. Send WTM the required temperature instructions and reporting needs with the booking request.
Make repeat shipments easier to organise
Keep requests, approved quotes, online payments and historical shipments together in the WTM Customer Portal. Follow deliveries with real-time GPS tracking and retrieve issued BOLs, PODs and invoices when needed. New customers can request an account invitation from admin@wtmlogistics.com.

Frequently asked questions
Does real-time GPS prove the product stayed at its required temperature?
No. GPS describes location. Temperature evidence requires an appropriate, separately defined monitoring arrangement.
Does the POD replace a food-business receiving check?
No. It records the delivery handoff; the receiving business performs its own acceptance and product checks.
