WTM Logistics · Calgary–Red Deer · Northbound
WTM can arrange tailgate-equipped hotshot delivery from Calgary to Penhold or Red Deer for suitable crated maintenance units. The shipment needs both an urgent transport plan and a workable ground-level unloading arrangement. A tailgate helps bridge vehicle-floor height; it does not remove the need to assess the crate’s weight, footprint, stability and receiving surface.
Dedicated direct transport · Dispatch immediately after confirmation · Real-time GPS
Measure the whole crate and base
Provide length, width, height and gross weight, including pallet, skids and protective packaging. Identify projections and any instruction for lifting or orientation. The equipment selection should use these loaded figures rather than a product brochure’s bare-machine weight.
Explain whether the unit is palletised and how it will be moved onto and off the tailgate. WTM reviews the required method and assigned equipment; a generic lifting-capacity number is not a substitute for assessing the complete offload.
Describe the ground-level receiving point
Give the exact delivery entrance and state whether the agreed unloading area is level, firm and accessible. Loose ground, slopes, steps or tight approaches can affect whether the requested arrangement is suitable.
Distinguish unloading from internal placement. Moving a crate into a workshop, through a narrow doorway or upstairs is a different task from a safe ground-level handoff. Include any extra handling need before the quote is approved.
Keep urgency and equipment as separate decisions
A maintenance unit may need a direct hotshot because of its deadline. Another crate with identical unloading needs may fit a planned LTL service when timing is flexible. Tailgate delivery alone does not determine whether a shipment is urgent.
Give dispatch the ready time in Calgary and the latest useful receiving time. Immediate dispatch after confirmation starts the operational process; pickup still depends on the assigned vehicle reaching a prepared load.
Have the receiver ready to accept responsibility
Nominate the person meeting the delivery at Penhold or Red Deer. The booking should say where the completed handoff occurs and what equipment the receiver will provide. A driver cannot assume an unstaffed shop can take a large crate safely.
Use GPS tracking to coordinate readiness, then retain the POD and invoice with the maintenance order. Any technical inspection or installation happens under the receiver’s own process, separate from the transport handoff.
Can every pallet be unloaded by tailgate?
No. Suitability depends on the loaded dimensions, gross weight, stability, equipment and receiving surface. Submit those details for the assigned vehicle review.
Can WTM deliver inside the building?
Request the exact inside-handling task in advance. It is not automatically included in a basic tailgate handoff.
Send the crate measurements and a description of the offload area with your urgent delivery request.
Keep the urgent delivery visible to your booking team
Review and approve your quote, make the applicable payment and follow the journey with real-time GPS in the WTM Customer Portal. Retrieve issued BOLs, PODs and invoices with the shipment history after the handoff.
Regular shippers can ask about 10% off recurring shipments. A prepaid credit account is a separate option with up to 25% off eligible services. The two offers are not automatically combined.
