Identify the consignment’s purpose
A saleable stock transfer, completed arrangement and reusable display collection can need different handling. Describe the actual goods and their intended recipient. The transport booking should not imply that WTM will redesign arrangements or evaluate their commercial quality.
Use a florist’s reference for each group and provide the number of transport containers. List tall packages, fragile structures and anything that must remain upright. An arrangement’s footprint and height can matter more to the vehicle plan than its weight.
Prepare stable, transport-ready packaging
Secure containers and delicate presentation materials for the journey. Disclose water-filled vessels and any special orientation requirement before quoting. The florist should decide the packing method appropriate to the design and materials.
Provide the required temperature and handling instructions for the actual contents. Do not apply a universal “flower temperature” to plants, cut stems and mixed arrangements. WTM matches the accepted transport service to the requirements you supply.
Coordinate collection after the florist finishes preparation
If goods are coming from a venue, confirm when teardown is complete and who is authorised to release them. A venue’s general closing time does not establish that the florist’s packed shipment will be ready.
At the Calgary end, identify the receiving studio, store or storage location. Tell dispatch whether staff can accept at the agreed time and whether there are loading or access restrictions. A delivery to an office address may not reach the team responsible for handling the arrangements.
Keep the next use separate from transportation
The receiving florist should check and prepare the goods for any subsequent sale or event. The POD records delivery, not the condition approval or readiness of an arrangement for display.
