WTM Logistics · Shipping questions answered
WTM Logistics can review refrigerated or frozen-food delivery for a personal shipment to family within its service coverage. Book the product’s required temperature conditions and an available receiver—not merely a fast box delivery. A personal food parcel needs the same clear transport instructions as a commercial cold shipment.
Practical answers for parcels, pallets and business freight

Describe the food and required conditions
Give the product description, package count, prepared weight and the producer’s transport instructions. State whether the goods must remain frozen or chilled. Different foods in the same order may need different conditions, so disclose the whole consignment before choosing a vehicle.
This article is about arranging transport for accepted, prepared food. It does not assess a recipe, certify food safety or replace the producer’s packing and storage instructions. WTM must review the actual shipment rather than infer suitability from “homemade food” or “groceries.”
A cold box and refrigerated transport are not identical
Insulation can be part of a packing plan, but the word “insulated” does not establish how long the contents can remain under their required conditions. Request the suitable temperature-controlled service instead of assuming that any quick parcel movement is equivalent.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s transport guidance for food businesses addresses vehicles maintaining conditions appropriate to the food. It is business guidance, not a statement that every personal gift has the same regulatory obligations. The practical booking point is to specify the product conditions rather than promise that speed alone protects the shipment.
Tell dispatch about coolant materials or other special contents before booking. Do not introduce an undeclared material into a package to make it appear suitable for an ordinary courier service.
Arrange the family member’s receiving plan
Confirm the destination, contact number and when the recipient can accept and put away the food. An unattended doorstep is not the same receiving arrangement as a staffed handoff. Include any building access or rural directions that affect delivery.
The sender should also be ready at the agreed collection time. A temperature-controlled vehicle is not a substitute for preparing and storing the goods appropriately before pickup. Agree responsibility at both handoffs.
Compare the complete cold-delivery quote
The quote should cover the origin, destination, packed size, required conditions and deadline. A small parcel may suit an appropriate refrigerated vehicle. A dedicated cold hotshot is a different choice when urgency requires its own direct movement.
For example, a family buying sealed frozen products from a supplier can arrange for WTM to collect once the order is ready. The supplier provides the transport instructions, the buyer approves the service, and the recipient confirms the receiving window. This is clearer than sending an ordinary box and hoping it stays cold.
Can I send only a small order?
Yes, you can request a quote for a small shipment. Cost and suitability depend on the route, package and required service, not on whether the sender is a business.
Does GPS tracking show the food temperature?
No. GPS shows location. Any required temperature monitoring or records must be specified separately in the accepted service; a location map or POD is not a temperature log.
Tell WTM what the food requires and who will receive it. We will quote the suitable temperature-controlled delivery for the accepted shipment.
Arrange the next shipment without losing the paperwork
The WTM Customer Portal keeps shipment requests, quote decisions, online payments and history in one place. Track active deliveries with real-time GPS and find issued bills of lading, PODs and invoices when the shipment is complete.
