WTM Logistics · Shipping questions answered

You do not need to know whether your shipment is called courier, hotshot or LTL before asking WTM for a quote. Describe the goods, the two addresses, readiness and deadline in ordinary language. The examples below turn common customer questions into requests dispatch can assess without guessing essential details.

Shipping quote checklist with six shipment icons, a carton and WTM delivery vehicles.

1. One urgent box between two cities

I need to send one box from [pickup address and city] to [delivery address and city]. It contains [description], measures [length × width × height] and weighs [packed weight]. It will be ready at [time and date]. The receiver needs it by [deadline] and can accept it at [entrance/contact]. Please confirm the available delivery service and price.

This keeps “urgent” connected to an actual receiving requirement. The same format can be used for Edmonton-to-Fort-McMurray or another applicable route without assuming identical delivery times.

2. A pallet where price matters but the deadline is fixed

Please quote the most economical suitable option for [number] packed pallet(s) from [origin] to [destination]. Each pallet measures [dimensions] and weighs [gross weight]. The load is [stackable/non-stackable]. It is ready [date], and delivery is needed by [deadline]. Loading is [arrangement]; unloading is [arrangement]. Please include the required handling in the quote.

Do not substitute a standard pallet size when the loaded goods overhang it. The complete footprint matters more than the label “one skid.”

3. A one-time personal package

I am sending a personal item, not arranging a business contract. The packed item is [description, dimensions and weight]. Collection is from [home or other address], and delivery is to [address]. I need [timing]. [Person] can release it and [person] can receive it. Please tell me which service fits.

A business name is not a replacement for the sender and receiver information. A clear private-shipment request is enough to start the enquiry.

4. A seller’s pickup-only purchase

The seller has agreed that a carrier may collect [item] from [address]. It will be packed as [carton/pallet/crate] with [dimensions and weight]. The collection contact is [name] and the release reference is [reference]. The seller provides [loading assistance]. Delivery is to [address], where [unloading arrangement] is available. Please quote before I confirm collection.

Settle the purchase, packing and release responsibilities with the seller. The courier is not being asked to assess the product or negotiate payment.

5. Refrigerated goods

I need transport for [product and packed quantity] from [origin] to [destination]. The supplier’s required transport conditions are [instructions]. The goods will be ready in suitable packaging at [time]. The receiver is available [window]. Please confirm the suitable refrigerated service and any required records before booking.

GPS location tracking and temperature records answer different questions. Specify any product monitoring requirement rather than assuming it follows from a tracking link.

6. A residential pallet delivery without a dock

I am receiving [packed item] at a home address. Its packed dimensions are [dimensions] and gross weight is [weight]. There is [access description] and no loading dock. I need the agreed handoff at [specific point]. Please confirm suitable unloading and price any additional handling separately. Collection is from [seller address and arrangement].

Do not assume tailgate unloading includes movement into a room or unpacking. Describe the physical work required.

Finish with the information still unknown

Label any provisional measurements or unconfirmed access clearly. Ask what must be supplied before the estimate can become an accepted booking. Do not fill missing fields with guesses merely to complete an online form.

Use the WTM quote form or your Customer Portal request. The response commitment is within 15 minutes; the transport timing is established separately for the actual shipment.

Should I send the same description to every carrier?

Use the same shipment facts and required service scope so the offers are comparable. Preserve the assumptions behind any provisional estimate.

Copy the example closest to your job, replace the bracketed details and tell WTM what you need accomplished. We will help identify the service.

From your question to a confirmed booking

Start with a quote request rather than a guess about the right vehicle. In the WTM Customer Portal you can review and approve the quoted service, pay online, follow GPS tracking and retrieve issued BOLs, proof of delivery and invoices.

For regular work, WTM offers 10% off recurring shipments. A funded credit account separately offers up to 25% off eligible services. The offers are separate, not an automatic combined discount.

Open the WTM Customer Portal. New account access: admin@wtmlogistics.com.

Ready to arrange the shipment?

Send the pickup location, destination, packed goods and real delivery deadline. WTM will quote the appropriate service for the job.
