Start with the shipment, not a list of logos
A person sending one packed gift, a workshop buying a heavy replacement component and a store receiving three pallets are not shopping for the same delivery arrangement. Before comparing carriers, describe the goods as the driver will receive them. “One machine” is incomplete; “one crated machine on a forkliftable base” identifies a very different job from a handheld tool in a carton.
Use the following starting points. These are service-selection questions, not universal weight limits or a ranking of carriers.

Compare the service offered, not just the company
Ask each provider the same question: “Can you collect this shipment here and deliver it there by this time?” A company may operate several products with different schedules. Its fastest product and its lowest-priced product are not interchangeable.
Write down the collection commitment, delivery commitment, included handling and total quoted charge. A low transport price is not the complete comparison when you still have to deliver the goods to a terminal or arrange unloading yourself. Conversely, paying for a dedicated vehicle makes little sense when a suitable scheduled service comfortably meets your deadline.

A practical choice, without a made-up league table
Imagine a buyer whose goods must arrive before a repair appointment. Provider A offers a lower price but only an estimated arrival after the appointment; Provider B confirms a suitable arrival and includes the required unloading. The useful conclusion is that B fits that particular job—not that B is universally the best shipping company.

Can I use WTM for just one shipment?
Yes. Start with a quote for the goods you need moved. A repeat-shipping programme is a separate discussion, not a reason to delay asking about one box or pallet.
Is the cheapest shipping company always the best choice?
Choose the lowest-priced suitable offer, not simply the lowest number. Compare the same collection, deadline and handoff before deciding.
