WTM Logistics · Courier · Northbound

WTM moves packaged machine-shop samples and supporting drawings from Lethbridge to Calgary buyers, designers and fabrication partners. A physical sample can help a customer assess fit or finish before the next production step. Courier delivery keeps the sample and its identifying paperwork associated with one shipment.

Define what the receiver is reviewing

A sample may be a finished prototype, a cut section or an example of a surface treatment. Describe it accurately and identify the purchase order or project. Avoid a label that says only parts when several projects are active at the receiver.

Place the drawing revision or sample reference on the packing list. Keep confidential paperwork inside the package rather than displayed on the exterior. The outside label needs enough information to route the consignment, not the complete commercial specification.

Package for a physical handoff, not a photograph

Protect machined faces, corners and protrusions with suitable packaging. Secure a dense metal sample so it cannot move through a weak carton. State its gross weight and whether a crate or pallet is needed; small dimensions do not always mean hand-carry weight.

Include a clear count of sample pieces and documents. For example, a buyer reviewing two finishes should be able to identify sample A and sample B without separating either from its corresponding reference sheet. This is an illustrative workflow, not a claim about a particular WTM customer.

Book to the review location

Confirm whether the Calgary receiver wants the sample at an engineering office, a workshop or a receiving warehouse. The delivery address on a head-office website may not be where the review is taking place.

State the review deadline as a receiving deadline. If the sample must reach a meeting, allow the customer to arrange its own internal preparation after arrival. WTM quotes transportation; approval, testing and engineering decisions remain with the sender and buyer.

Plan what happens after the review

A sample may remain with the buyer, return to Lethbridge or move to a different fabricator. None of those later movements should be assumed from the first courier request. Wait for the owner’s instruction and create a new request using the actual pickup details.

For a very heavy prototype or a palletised assembly, LTL freight may be more appropriate than parcel courier. An immediate workshop transfer can instead be assessed for hotshot service. Explain the review requirement so the service matches the job.

Sample-delivery questions

Can paper drawings travel with the sample?

Yes. Secure them inside the consignment and identify the relevant revision.

Does delivery confirmation mean the customer approved the sample?

No. The POD records the transport handoff, not technical acceptance or a production approval.

Keep the next delivery simple

Request the shipment, review and approve your quote, pay online and follow the delivery with real-time GPS tracking in the WTM Customer Portal. Find your available delivery records, invoices and previous shipments without rebuilding the booking through separate email threads.

Save 10% on recurring shipments. A funded credit account separately offers up to 25% off eligible services. Ask WTM which arrangement applies to your quote; the two offers are not combined.

Open the WTM Customer Portal. New customers can request an invitation at admin@wtmlogistics.com.

Book the shipment your business needs moved. Send WTM the route, packed load and required timing for a service-specific quote.
