Confirm that the seller has released the item

Complete the buyer-seller arrangements directly and obtain permission for WTM to collect. Provide the seller’s contact, actual pickup address and purchase reference. A marketplace message saying sold does not establish a collection window or authorise removal from the premises.

WTM provides transportation, not escrow or an inspection of the seller’s ownership claims. The buyer and seller handle payment, title, suitability and condition. Keep those decisions separate from the freight request so collection can proceed on clear instructions.

Obtain transport-ready measurements

Ask how the machine will be prepared: on a skid, in a crate or in another suitable supported configuration. Include projecting components, packaging and base in the dimensions, and give the gross weight. Do not infer weight from photographs or copy another model’s specification.

The seller or competent personnel should prepare the item for transport and disclose residual fluids, batteries or special conditions. If dismantling, rigging or crating is needed, identify who will perform it. Those tasks are not automatically part of a routine LTL pickup.

Check the handling at both premises

The Lethbridge seller may have a forklift while the Calgary buyer has only a driveway or small workshop. Tell WTM about that difference. Request tailgate or additional handling explicitly and provide the actual receiving surface, entrance and access constraints.

For illustration, a buyer could arrange collection of a properly crated bench machine at a staffed seller’s yard and receive it at an agreed Calgary unloading point. The buyer then handles setup and technical acceptance. The freight handoff should not be confused with installation.

Use LTL only when the consignment suits shared freight

Prepared equipment with a suitable footprint and handling can be assessed for LTL. Unusually large, fragile or time-critical items may need dedicated transport. WTM confirms the arrangement using the real load rather than promising that every marketplace machine fits one service.

Keep the purchase reference, BOL and POD associated with the shipment. The delivery record confirms transport information, while any issue about what was sold remains between the parties under their own agreement.

Can I book while I am in Calgary and the seller is in Lethbridge?

Yes. Obtain the seller’s authorisation, contact and accurate load details before requesting collection.

Does a freight quote include unbolting or removing machinery from a building?

Not unless explicitly agreed. Establish preparation, access and handling responsibilities before the booking is accepted.
