WTM Logistics · LTL · Southbound
WTM can arrange Calgary to Coalhurst LTL freight with tailgate delivery when a small business needs a suitable ground-level pallet handoff. The load may be routine shop stock or a prepared piece of commercial equipment. Give the full pallet dimensions, weight and receiving conditions so the appropriate vehicle and unloading work are agreed before collection.
Shared-capacity pallet freight · Agreed unloading · Shipment documents

Describe the business premises honestly
Explain where the vehicle can stand and where the freight is to be placed. Include the unloading surface, slope, thresholds and any restriction on access. A business address does not automatically mean a loading dock or a forklift is available.
Identify the person accepting the shipment and the receiving window. A small operator may need to pause other work to attend the handoff. Agree that timing rather than relying on the driver to find an available staff member after arriving.
Use the pallet’s finished measurements
Provide outside length, width and height, including overhang and packaging. Give gross weight and explain whether the load can be stacked. Describe fragile or unusually shaped goods and how they are supported.
Tailgate and pallet-handling suitability must be evaluated for the actual load and surface. A crate with an unsuitable base or a very long pallet may need a different arrangement. The quote should match physical handling requirements, not just a checkbox saying liftgate needed.
State the final placement requested
A ground-level handoff, placement inside a doorway and movement farther into a building are different scopes. Describe any requested inside service, access dimensions and obstacles during quotation. Installation, uncrating and packaging disposal are not automatically included.
For illustration, a shop receiving a pallet of boxed merchandise can have a nominated hard-surface unloading point ready and arrange its own internal distribution. That clear division helps the delivery proceed without turning an ordinary freight handoff into an unplanned moving job.
Compare LTL with dedicated transport using the same details
Routine freight with an accepted delivery window may suit LTL service. An item needed immediately may warrant a dedicated hotshot. In either case, the load and site still need the same honest measurements and handling description.
Do not assume that tailgate service by itself makes a shipment urgent or guarantees an exact arrival hour. WTM confirms the timing and equipment as parts of the accepted booking. The POD then records the completed handoff to the authorised receiver.
Small-business freight questions
Can a single pallet be delivered without a dock?
Yes, when suitable equipment and an appropriate receiving arrangement are confirmed for the load.
Can a residential business use the service?
Provide the actual address, access and handling requirements so WTM can assess and quote that delivery accurately.
