WTM Logistics · LTL · Northbound
WTM can arrange LTL transport of prepared empty totes and reusable containers from Lethbridge to Calgary owners or suppliers. Returning packaging is a separate freight movement from the product delivery it supported. Describe the containers’ condition, previous use and packed footprint so the quote reflects the actual return load.

Confirm what the owner expects back
Identify the container type, quantity and return reference. Separate different owners’ assets and agree the Calgary receiving address. A rental or deposit account may use a different reference from the original product shipment.
The container owner or responsible business determines cleaning, sanitisation and reuse requirements. WTM transporting an item described as food grade does not certify its current cleanliness or approve it for contact with food. Supply the relevant condition information before collection.
Plan nesting and palletisation before measuring
Some empty containers nest efficiently; others must remain stacked in a particular way or cannot carry additional weight. Prepare the agreed return configuration, secure it and measure the finished load. Include pallet bases, wrapping and any overhang.
A large quantity of empty containers can occupy substantial space despite a modest weight. State both dimensions and gross weight so capacity is assessed properly. Do not estimate freight space only from the number of containers originally delivered full.
Keep unsuitable residues out of a routine return description
Declare remaining contents, damaged containers or contamination concerns accurately. Obtain the owner’s instructions about what can be returned and how. An empty packaging booking should not disguise a food-product return or a load with undisclosed handling requirements.
CFIA’s food-safety programme guidance discusses cleanliness and contamination controls in food-related operations. This shipment carries declared packaging assets; food businesses remain responsible for their own reuse and contact-surface decisions.
Make the two freight handoffs straightforward
Have the Lethbridge load assembled at an accessible pickup point with a releasing contact. Confirm loading equipment and the Calgary owner’s receiving window and unloading resources. Collection from several locations must be included explicitly in the quotation.
For illustration, a distributor can accumulate an agreed number of prepared returnable totes, secure them on identified pallets and send them to the owner’s nominated warehouse. The POD records the freight handoff; the owner’s inventory or deposit reconciliation is a separate business record.
Container-return questions
Does the return need refrigeration because the containers previously carried chilled goods?
State the current contents and required conditions. Empty-container transport should not automatically inherit the original food shipment’s service.
Can different tote sizes share a load?
Describe the prepared configuration and any stacking restrictions so WTM can confirm suitable transport and handling.
