Calgary ↔ Fort St. John · LTL

A Fort St. John to Calgary LTL quote should describe the full palletised shipment, not only how many skids it contains. WTM Logistics considers the prepared dimensions, weight, handling and accepted service when quoting suitable shared freight. A clear specification makes it easier to compare quotations and avoid pricing a different load from the one ready for pickup.

Illustration comparing wrapped pallets of different heights with weight and handling checks for an LTL quote.

Measure height as well as floor space

Provide length, width and total height, including the pallet. For illustration, a 48 by 40 inch pallet at 36 inches total height occupies 40 cubic feet; the same footprint at 72 inches occupies 80 cubic feet. The second unit has twice the cube even though both count as one pallet.

That calculation is a planning example, not a freight tariff. Weight, stackability, loading layout and service requirements still matter. Declare overhang and non-stackable conditions rather than treating a standard pallet base as a complete shipment description.

Quote the actual collection and receiving points

Give the FSJ pickup address, contact, ready time and available loading equipment. Supply the Calgary delivery entrance, appointment and unloading method. Ground-level handling is different from a dock-to-dock movement.

Include every receiver if the load must be split between destinations. A one-stop quotation should not be compared directly with a multi-stop service that includes separate handoffs and waiting arrangements.

Compare the same service commitment

Ask for the applicable LTL timing and state the latest useful delivery date. A dedicated hotshot and shared-capacity freight can both move a pallet, but they provide different transport arrangements. Compare the price alongside the service rather than treating the smallest number as an equivalent offer.

Specify temperature control separately where needed. Refrigerated freight must be assessed against the product conditions and compatible service, not assumed to cost or operate like a dry pallet movement.

Keep the accepted scope with the invoice

Confirm included pickup, delivery, agreed handling, surcharges and taxes before approval. Discuss changed instructions or waiting that could affect the completed charge. Use the Customer Portal to review the quote, make payment, follow GPS tracking and retain the BOL, POD and invoice.

WTM's recurring-shipment and funded-credit offers can be discussed for eligible work as separate arrangements. For the next shipment, start from the previous record but replace any changed dimensions, weight or receiving details. Accurate repeat quotes come from accurate current loads, not a remembered price per pallet.

Frequently asked questions

Why can two single-pallet quotes differ?

The pallets may differ in height, weight, footprint, stacking limits, handling, destinations or service timing.

Can I use last month’s price for the next pallet?

Use it as a reference, then request confirmation using the new shipment’s actual details and applicable account arrangement.
