Calgary ↔ Fort St. John · LTL
WTM Logistics moves suitable packaged cable reels and palletised electrical supplies from Calgary to Fort St. John by LTL freight. A supplier order can contain dense reels, lighter cartons and accessories with different handling needs. Describe each prepared transport unit so the equipment and loading arrangement match the real shipment.

Use the supplier's transport configuration
Ask the supplier to prepare reels and other goods according to its handling instructions. Provide the final external dimensions and gross weights, including supports, pallets or protective frames. The cable length on an invoice does not describe the reel's transport footprint.
Identify orientation and handling requirements without asking the driver to improvise a support method. A loose reel and a reel secured on an accepted transport base are different load descriptions.
Separate units with different loading characteristics
List palletised cartons independently from the reels. State which units can be stacked and which need protected space. Do not average the weights of unlike units into a description that hides the heaviest piece.
Include projecting flanges or other external features in the measurements. Photos can support a description, but the quote needs actual dimensions and weight to assess vehicle space and handling.
Connect the shipment with the installation plan
Give the FSJ receiving address, contact and unloading equipment. Materials may go to a workshop or storage yard before later site use. The transport destination should be the agreed handoff, not a general project name or the purchaser's billing office.
State the receiving deadline for the whole consignment. A normal materials order may suit LTL, while one critical missing component can be quoted separately as a hotshot. This keeps planned supplies and urgent work stoppages from being treated as the same service.
Retain the supplier allocation with the freight record
Approve the quote and payment through the Customer Portal and follow real-time GPS. Use the issued BOL, POD and invoice with the supplier packing list to reconcile the delivered units.
For staged project supply, update the released quantities and prepared measurements for every movement. A previous reel shipment does not establish the size or price of the next one. WTM can support a recurring freight arrangement while assessing each load from the specific units ready in Calgary.
Frequently asked questions
Is cable length enough information to quote a reel?
No. Provide the reel’s prepared external dimensions, gross weight and handling instructions.
Can one critical electrical item travel ahead of the LTL order?
Yes. Identify the urgent item separately and request the dedicated service needed for its deadline.
Book, approve and follow the shipment
