Calgary ↔ Fort St. John · Refrigerated hotshot

WTM Logistics arranges dedicated refrigerated transport for authorised frozen-product returns from Fort St. John to Calgary. A return shipment needs the supplier's approval, the product owner's transport instructions and a receiving location ready to accept the goods. The purpose is to move the identified consignment under an agreed plan, not to decide its commercial or food-safety disposition.

Obtain the supplier's return reference

Confirm which products and quantities the Calgary business has agreed to receive. Put that reference on the transport request and the outer packages. Do not assume a supplier's sales warehouse also accepts returns; obtain the actual return intake address.

Keep separate lots or customer returns clearly identified. The receiving business should be able to reconcile the consignment with its own authorisation rather than receive mixed cartons labelled only with the sender's name.

Disclose the condition and required transport

Describe the current product state, packaging and temperature instruction. If there is a known handling or temperature issue, pass it to the product owner and WTM before collection. Refrigeration during transport is not a declaration that returned goods are suitable to re-enter stock.

Identify package damage, leaks or containment requirements. The quote and service acceptance should reflect the actual prepared load. The responsible food business decides whether and how the products may be used, examined or otherwise handled after receipt.

Arrange a controlled receiving handoff

Confirm the Calgary return department, contact and delivery window. Returned goods may follow a different process from fresh inbound stock. Ask how the receiver wants the shipment reference presented and which transport records it expects.

Provide all packed dimensions and weights, including insulated containers or pallets. WTM can assign suitable refrigerated equipment without relying on the original sales quantity to describe the size of the return load.

Keep the transportation evidence connected

Use the Customer Portal to approve the hotshot quote and follow real-time GPS tracking. Where temperature records are required, agree that provision before dispatch. A GPS location and a signed POD answer different questions from a product-temperature record.

Retain the POD, invoice and supplier authorisation together. Do not treat a completed courier movement as proof that a credit has been issued or the products accepted for resale. Clear records let the sender and supplier resolve the return while WTM provides the agreed southbound cold transport.

Frequently asked questions

Can WTM return frozen products without the supplier’s approval?

Obtain return authorisation and receiving instructions first so the shipment has an agreed destination and purpose.

Does keeping a return frozen establish that it is safe to sell?

No. The responsible food business must make that assessment; transportation does not determine product disposition.

Food-transport reference: Canadian Food Inspection Agency — preventive controls, conveyances and transport conditions. Use the requirements applicable to the actual product and shipment.

Give your team one place for shipping records

Use the WTM Customer Portal for new requests, quote decisions and payments. Follow active shipments with live GPS tracking, then find the issued bill of lading, delivery record and invoice in your account. Previous shipments remain available for reference.

WTM offers 10% off recurring shipments. A funded credit account separately offers up to 25% off eligible services. Confirm the applicable offer with your quote; the two offers are not automatically combined.
