WTM Logistics · Calgary–Fort McMurray · Southbound

WTM can provide a dedicated hotshot from Fort McMurray to a Calgary service centre when equipment must reach a confirmed warranty-assessment appointment. Obtain the service centre’s authorisation and keep the unit’s identity and accompanying records clear. Fast transportation supports the assessment; it does not determine whether a warranty claim will be accepted.

Confirm the service centre’s instructions

Request the case number, receiving address, required accessories and the deadline for arrival. Some service centres receive at a separate warehouse or only accept authorised returns. Book the address that actually handles the assessment.

Have the owner decide what records or photographs to retain before packing. WTM should receive the equipment in the condition and packaging agreed for transportation, without being asked to make technical or warranty decisions.

Keep the equipment and accessories identifiable

Record the serial number and label the protective package with the authorised case reference. Count every separate carton or case. Avoid mixing unrelated returns under one vague description when they belong to different customer accounts.

Follow the owner’s or manufacturer’s transport preparation instructions. Disclose batteries, fluids, residues or special environmental conditions before acceptance. The driver is not booked to drain, clean or dismantle the equipment at pickup.

Decide whether the appointment needs dedicated transport

A scheduled assessment may justify hotshot when a standard service cannot meet its receiving window. State the actual appointment and ready time so dispatch can assess the direct movement. Do not equate a warranty label with automatic urgency.

For flexible palletised equipment, ask whether LTL is suitable. For a compact nonurgent parcel, courier may be enough. The accepted service should match the deadline and handling rather than the administrative name of the return.

Retain the transport evidence without overstating it

The POD records delivery to the agreed recipient. The service centre provides the assessment findings and any warranty decision separately. Keep those documents connected by the case reference, but do not treat one as a replacement for the other.

The Customer Portal provides quote approval, payment handling, GPS visibility and issued shipment documents. Once the service centre confirms a return shipment, request that movement using the new ready time and package details. Start the southbound booking with the authorisation and complete equipment description.

Manage this shipment from request to delivery

Request a shipment, review and approve the quote, and manage the agreed payment in the WTM Customer Portal. Follow active transportation with real-time GPS tracking and retrieve issued BOLs, PODs and invoices. Shipment history keeps previous delivery details within reach.
