WTM Logistics · Calgary–Fort McMurray · Northbound

WTM’s 24/7 dispatch can help organise an urgent Calgary-to-Fort-McMurray hotshot outside ordinary office hours. The first step is confirming that somebody can actually release the goods. A dispatcher being available overnight does not mean a supplier’s locked warehouse is available for collection without an agreed handoff.

Obtain a real after-hours release arrangement

Ask the supplier who will release the order, at which entrance and under what reference. Confirm the contact’s availability and the time the goods will be packaged. A voicemail saying an order is ready is not a complete out-of-hours collection plan.

Do not ask a driver to retrieve goods from an unattended or unauthorised location. The supplier should establish the accepted handoff and any access arrangements before dispatch commits the collection.

Confirm the northern receiver at the same time

Name the Fort McMurray contact who can accept the load during the proposed arrival window. If the receiving supervisor is on a different shift, arrange the handover of instructions. A number that nobody answers overnight can undermine an otherwise well-planned direct movement.

Industrial gate access and city deliveries should be described separately. Obtain any required advance arrangements from the customer. The quote should cover the actual destination and accepted receiving point.

Identify the complete urgent load

Provide the packed dimensions, weight, quantity and handling needs. State whether enclosed transport, temperature control or tailgate unloading is required. Out-of-hours urgency does not remove equipment-fit requirements.

Ask the supplier whether small associated pieces are essential to the repair. A missing connector or mounting kit may force a second urgent shipment. Use a concise release checklist rather than relying on several disconnected messages between buyer, supplier and site.

Keep the delivery promise tied to the confirmed plan

WTM begins dispatch immediately after confirmation and establishes pickup and delivery timing for the actual job. Current road conditions and the confirmed receiving window matter. Direct hotshot avoids routine commercial consolidation; it is not a promise to ignore safe operating requirements.

Follow the movement through GPS tracking and retain the POD in the portal. Keep an authorised customer contact available for changes. Request the after-hours service with both ends arranged so the dedicated vehicle has a clear collection and a workable destination.

A customer account built around your deliveries

The WTM Customer Portal supports new shipment requests, quote review and approval, online payments and real-time GPS tracking. Access issued BOLs, PODs, invoices and shipment history through the same account. New customers can request access from admin@wtmlogistics.com.
