A Calgary fabricator may need the actual jig, template or reference component before it can begin the next job. WTM provides hotshot transportation from Fort McMurray for prepared items with a time-sensitive workshop deadline. Identify the reference clearly and protect its working surfaces so the fabricator receives the intended item—not an unlabelled piece of hardware.

Agree which reference the fabricator needs

Confirm the part identifier, drawing revision and intended workshop job. Keep engineering decisions between the owner and fabricator. WTM transports the physical item and accompanying package; it does not approve dimensions or validate a design.

If more than one sample or jig is required, label each item and identify how they relate. A single courier reference should not hide the fact that several physical pieces must arrive together before the workshop can proceed.

Protect the features that make the item useful

Package precision surfaces and vulnerable edges appropriately and secure loose parts. Describe orientation restrictions and any non-stackable shape. The owner or fabricator should specify the protective arrangement suitable for the item.

Give the dimensions after packaging and gross weight including the support structure. A lightweight but wide template may occupy more vehicle space than a heavy compact part. Dispatch needs the finished load profile to choose suitable enclosed equipment.

Match collection to the workshop’s working window

Obtain the Calgary receiving entrance, contact and job reference. Explain when the fabricator needs the item in hand to support its plan. A general request for fastest delivery is less actionable than a specific accepted receiving milestone.

Confirm the Fort McMurray release contact and loading arrangements. If the reference is still in use at the site, organise its release before committing the pickup. The driver should not have to decide whether an operating team can spare the item.

Preserve identity through the handoff

Keep a copy of the item list and photograph the prepared package for your own records. Match the POD to the fabrication job. Delivery confirmation documents transport, while the fabricator records receipt condition, measurements and work completion separately.

Use the Customer Portal for the quote, payment arrangement and GPS visibility. Any finished replacement returning north requires a new description of its packed load and readiness. Request the hotshot with the exact reference item and workshop deadline that starts the next stage of work.

Make repeat shipments easier to organise

Keep requests, approved quotes, online payments and historical shipments together in the WTM Customer Portal. Follow deliveries with real-time GPS tracking and retrieve issued BOLs, PODs and invoices when needed. New customers can request an account invitation from admin@wtmlogistics.com.
