WTM Logistics · Calgary–Fort McMurray · Northbound
WTM can arrange tailgate-equipped hotshot transport for a suitable crated replacement unit from Calgary to Fort McMurray. A delivery deadline and a lack of loading dock are two different requirements: one determines the urgency, the other determines the unloading plan. Put both into the quote so the vehicle arrives ready for the agreed handoff.
Dedicated direct transportation · 24/7 dispatch · Equipment matched to the accepted shipment
Measure the entire transport package
Give the crate’s length, width, height and gross weight, including any skid or cradle. Identify overhangs, off-centre weight and anything that must remain upright. A machine’s product brochure does not necessarily describe the crate prepared by its supplier.
Provide photographs or a packing drawing when they help explain the shape. Dispatch needs to assess the usable vehicle opening, floor space and lifting arrangement rather than relying on the broad description “one small unit.”
Describe the ground-level delivery surface
Explain where the receiver expects unloading and whether that location is firm, level and accessible to the agreed equipment. Thresholds, steps, soft ground or a long internal move are separate handling considerations, not details to discover after the tailgate is lowered.
Tailgate capacity and platform dimensions must suit the actual load and assigned truck. Do not treat a stated maximum vehicle capacity as proof that every crate fits its lifting platform. Give the receiving conditions before booking.
Keep installation separate from transport
The buyer should arrange any specialist personnel or equipment needed after the agreed handoff. Hotshot delivery does not itself include positioning a machine inside a building, removing the old unit or commissioning the replacement.
For an illustrative job, a receiver may accept a protected unit at a suitable ground-level goods entrance while its own crew completes the internal move. State that responsibility clearly so dispatch and the buyer understand the same endpoint.
Use urgency to select the transport plan
If the replacement is tied to a genuine operating deadline, request direct hotshot service. If the date is flexible, compare an appropriate freight option with the same unloading requirement. Tailgate delivery alone does not make a shipment urgent.
The portal connects the accepted quote, payment arrangement, GPS tracking and issued POD. Send WTM the packed measurements, photographs where helpful and receiving-surface details to obtain a hotshot quotation that covers both the drive and the unloading.
Keep the receiving team and accounts connected
Use the WTM Customer Portal to manage the request, quote approval and online payment. GPS visibility supports receiving coordination, while issued BOLs, PODs and invoices provide records for operations and accounts. Access previous shipments without rebuilding the history through email.
