WTM Logistics · Calgary–Fort McMurray · Southbound

WTM can arrange LTL return of suitable palletised rental equipment from Fort McMurray to a Calgary rental warehouse. This is the freight-scale version of an off-hire collection: identify the equipment, prepare its shipping units and obtain the rental company’s receiving instructions. Keep transportation separate from the supplier’s inspection and rental-account closeout.

Reconcile equipment against the hire record

List the units, identifiers and accessories being returned. Separate equipment belonging to different contracts or receiving warehouses. A project closeout may involve several suppliers; one mixed pallet should not obscure who owns which item.

Obtain the rental provider’s instructions for return readiness and packaging. WTM is not being booked to dismantle a worksite, clean equipment or determine that a rental is complete. Those steps belong with the responsible owner and supplier.

Prepare measurable, secure shipping units

Give each pallet or crate a final footprint, height and gross weight. Identify non-stackable sections, uneven weight and special orientation. Secure accessories with the intended unit instead of leaving loose items on the vehicle floor.

Disclose fluids, residues, batteries or other special conditions before acceptance. The accepted LTL service must match the actual load, not simply the general phrase “rental return.” Loading and unloading equipment must also be available as agreed.

Confirm the warehouse’s receiving process

Use the Calgary return entrance and contract reference, not the supplier’s sales office by default. Arrange the receiving window and identify any advance notice the warehouse requires. A closed return counter can prevent an otherwise straightforward handoff.

Ask the rental company how it determines off-hire status. Delivery documentation supports your record, but it does not automatically stop rental charges or replace the supplier’s inventory and condition checks.

Choose timing that fits the account deadline

A planned pallet return may suit LTL when the receiving date is flexible. If an agreed deadline requires exclusive capacity, request a separate dedicated quote. Do not assume a shared service meets an unconfirmed same-day target.

Use the Customer Portal to connect the approved quote, payment arrangement and POD with the hire reference. Once the shipment is delivered, retain the supplier’s subsequent inspection record separately. Request the freight collection with a reconciled equipment list and confirmed warehouse receiving details.

Manage this shipment from request to delivery

Request a shipment, review and approve the quote, and manage the agreed payment in the WTM Customer Portal. Follow active transportation with real-time GPS tracking and retrieve issued BOLs, PODs and invoices. Shipment history keeps previous delivery details within reach.

Frequently asked questions

Does a POD automatically close the rental agreement?

No. The rental provider applies its own off-hire and inspection process.

How does this differ from couriering a small test case?

Palletised or crated equipment needs freight measurements, mechanical handling and an appropriate LTL or dedicated assessment.

Arrange your ltl freight shipment with WTM Logistics. Send the actual collection and delivery locations, packed load details and required timing.
