Identify where the pallet is standing

Give the collection address, usable entrance and contact who can release the load. Explain whether the goods are inside a building, on a paved receiving area or somewhere that needs an internal move. A map pin should be supported by practical entrance instructions.

Do not assume the carrier can drive onto soft ground, manoeuvre through a tight driveway or move freight over steps. Discuss a suitable accessible handoff when the current location cannot support the selected equipment.

Provide the complete load specification

Measure the pallet footprint, loaded height and gross weight. Include any overhang, crate and packaging. Identify non-stackable or top-heavy loads, and describe the approved method of moving the package.

The owner should secure and prepare the load before collection. WTM is not automatically being booked to build a pallet, dismantle equipment or collect loose items from several places around the property.

Agree the loading method rather than assuming it

State whether a forklift, dock or other suitable loading equipment is available. If not, request an assessment of ground-level collection using suitable equipment. Tailgate suitability depends on the actual load, platform and receiving surface.

The Calgary destination also needs a loading or unloading brief. A shipment can be straightforward at origin but still need special handling at delivery. Include both ends in the same quotation request.

Match the schedule to the prepared shipment

Give the real ready time and the Calgary receiver’s available window. A rural collection has additional access and routing details; it should not be priced or timed as an unspecified Fort McMurray city pickup.

Use the Customer Portal to approve the accepted arrangement and retain the BOL, POD and invoice. Photographs and accurate measurements supplied with the request help explain the load. Request a ground-level collection assessment before promising a pickup time to the person releasing the pallet.
