WTM Logistics · Shipping questions answered
WTM Logistics can arrange transport for an ordinary bicycle between locations in its Alberta and BC coverage. Send the collection and destination addresses, the bike’s prepared size and the delivery deadline. A boxed bicycle, a protected assembled bicycle and an electric bike are different shipping requests; describe the one you actually have.

Choose the preparation before choosing the price
A bicycle’s frame size is not its shipping size. The seller or bike shop should identify what will be removed, how the frame and wheels will be protected, and the dimensions after packing. Loose pedals, axles and accessories should be secured and listed so they do not become an unrecorded extra parcel.
FedEx’s bicycle-shipping guide treats preparation and the chosen shipping service as separate decisions. Its parcel limits and US service schedules are not WTM’s rules. For a WTM quote, describe your complete packed bike and ask for the transport arrangement suitable for it.
A bike shop can be a useful collection point when it has agreed to prepare and release the bicycle. Do not assume the courier will dismantle it at a private seller’s home or reassemble it for the buyer.
Boxed transport or an agreed assembled-bike movement?
A purpose-built box or case can make the bike easier to identify as one protected handling unit. An assembled bicycle may require more floor space, particular restraint points and a different handling arrangement. Protection for the frame does not automatically protect brake rotors, gears or projecting controls.
Give WTM photographs alongside the prepared dimensions. State any parts that must not bear load and whether the package can be stacked. The goal is to preserve a workable handling plan, not to obtain the smallest possible dimensions before protection has been added.
Coordinate seller, carrier and buyer
For an online purchase, agree payment and the seller’s release authorisation independently of transport. WTM collects the identified bicycle; the collection does not certify its condition or verify that it matches a sales claim.
A useful booking might say: “One boxed non-electric bicycle, prepared by the selling shop, collection after Thursday noon, delivery to the buyer’s workplace during staffed hours.” Add the real locations and measurements. This gives the service team much more than “ship a bike to BC.”
Choose the receiving address around who can accept the shipment. The buyer’s travel plans and the delivery schedule do not have to be identical, but someone must be expecting the bike at the agreed destination.
Electric bicycles need a separate battery review
Disclose an e-bike and its battery before booking. Transport Canada identifies lithium batteries as dangerous goods, with transport requirements depending on the situation and mode. Do not place a battery in another parcel and describe the load as an ordinary bicycle. WTM must review the actual goods and service before acceptance.
Can I send a bike to a repair shop and arrange its return later?
Yes. Supply the shop’s repair or receiving reference. The return journey needs its own ready time once the workshop has finished; do not assume it is immediately available for collection.
Will the driver pack the bicycle?
The quoted scope must say who prepares the bike. Book transport-ready collection unless a separate packing arrangement has been agreed.
