WTM Logistics · Shipping questions answered

When your delivery deadline is flexible, tell WTM how much time you can allow before requesting the fastest service. A suitable scheduled courier or shared-capacity freight option may meet the need without a dedicated urgent movement. Compare offers for the same packed shipment and handoff; waiting is useful only when the resulting service still works for the sender and receiver.

Define flexibility as a real window

“Not urgent” could mean tomorrow, next week or any time before a specific event. State the earliest ready date, latest acceptable arrival and any receiving days that will not work. A carrier can assess usable options more accurately with those boundaries.

Flexibility at only one end may not help. The sender might be available all week while the receiver can accept goods only on a particular morning. Include both ends before asking for a cheaper service.

Do not trade away a requirement you still need

A lower transport price may involve a different arrival window or collection arrangement. Check that it still includes the actual addresses, handling and complete load. Do not compare a depot-drop-off rate with a home-pickup quote as though only the speed changed.

Keep constant between offersWhat may legitimately differ
Packed dimensions, weight and contentsAccepted collection date
Actual origin and destinationDelivery window
Required loading and unloadingScheduled versus dedicated transport
Essential handling instructionsPrice for that complete service

This makes the comparison useful without inventing a universal cheapest carrier.

Ask the receiver what time is genuinely valuable

A buyer may not benefit from a delivery a day earlier if nobody can use the goods until later. A repair appointment or expiring rental arrangement may make that same day valuable. Decide using the actual consequence of waiting rather than the emotional appeal of “express.”

For example, an order needed for next week’s shop restocking may have a wider window than a component needed to finish today’s repair. WTM can assess those as different service requests even if the boxes are the same size.

Avoid false savings from poor preparation

Reducing packaging protection, understating weight or calling a non-stackable load stackable does not produce a dependable saving. Instead, have the shipment ready when promised and provide accurate information so the quote reflects the real job.

Combining compatible orders can sometimes be worth discussing, but it is a separate decision. Do not hold a necessary shipment indefinitely while hoping another package will appear to share the trip. The existing consolidation worksheet examines that trade-off in detail.

Use a clear purchasing instruction

Try: “Please quote the lowest-priced available option that can collect this prepared shipment after [ready date] and deliver by [deadline]. The receiver can accept it during [windows]. Please also show an urgent alternative only if the difference is useful.”

WTM’s quote can then identify the available service and its accepted price. Recurring and eligible funded-credit offers should be discussed separately and applied only where appropriate.

Is scheduled shipping always cheaper than dedicated transport?

Not as a rule for every load and route. Obtain comparable offers rather than assuming the result.

Can I change to urgent delivery later?

Ask dispatch before relying on an upgrade. Availability and price need confirmation for the revised requirement.

Use time flexibility as an explicit part of the quote request. The goal is the least expensive suitable service—not the fastest label or the lowest incomplete number.

A clear next step for your shipment

Send the actual pickup, destination and shipment details to WTM. Existing customers can manage requests, quote approvals and payments in the Customer Portal, then follow the shipment with real-time GPS and access its available delivery records.

For regular work, WTM offers 10% off recurring shipments. A funded credit account separately offers up to 25% off eligible services. The offers are separate, not an automatic combined discount.

Open the WTM Customer Portal. New account access: admin@wtmlogistics.com.

Ready to arrange the shipment?

Send the pickup location, destination, packed goods and real delivery deadline. WTM will quote the appropriate service for the job.
