Calgary ↔ Fort St. John · Freight hotshot

WTM Logistics moves suitable rental load banks and industrial test equipment from Fort St. John to Calgary by dedicated hotshot. When the owner needs a unit returned for its next booking, transportation should start from the equipment's actual release and packed condition. Coordinate the off-hire reference, handling and receiving deadline before dispatch.

Agree the rental return before arranging collection

Obtain the rental company's return reference and the Calgary location accepting the unit. Record which accessories, leads, stands or cases must accompany it. The off-hire decision belongs to the owner; the courier booking should reflect its instructions.

A return to a service depot may differ from delivery to the location that originally supplied the equipment. Confirm the address and receiving appointment instead of copying the old outbound label onto a new consignment.

Measure and prepare the complete unit

Provide external dimensions, gross weight and loading requirements for the equipment and every separate case. Include skids, protective frames and attachments. Identify lifting points and orientation instructions supplied by the owner.

Disclose batteries, fuels, fluids or other special contents where present. Equipment transport must be assessed from the real unit, not assumed from a generic rental-category name. WTM assigns suitable equipment after the load and handling requirements are defined.

Work backwards from the next useful receiving slot

Ask the owner when the unit must be at its Calgary depot for inspection or preparation. Its next rental departure may not be the right delivery deadline; the owner may need time beforehand to check the returned equipment.

Use dedicated hotshot when the agreed deadline requires it. A flexible off-hire pallet may be better suited to LTL. WTM can quote the transportation choice without claiming that arrival automatically stops rental charges or completes the owner's inspection process.

Retain the equipment reference with the POD

Manage the request, quote approval and payment in the Customer Portal. GPS tracking gives visibility of the movement while the unit is travelling south. Keep the POD, invoice and rental reference together when the handoff is complete.

The owner separately confirms receipt, inventory and condition under its own process. For a replacement unit returning to FSJ, include the second load's dimensions and ready time in a new or expressly combined quotation. Two equipment units with the same purpose can still have different transport requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Does the POD automatically end the rental contract?

No. The rental company’s agreed off-hire process controls that decision; the POD supports the transportation record.

Can heavy test equipment be moved by hotshot?

Provide the full dimensions, weight and handling details so WTM can assess and assign suitable transport.

Move from a quote to a trackable shipment

The WTM Customer Portal brings shipment requests, quote approval and online payment together. Use live GPS tracking during transport and retrieve the issued BOL, POD and invoice afterwards. Your history gives repeat shipments a useful reference.

WTM offers 10% off recurring shipments. A funded credit account separately offers up to 25% off eligible services. Confirm the applicable offer with your quote; the two offers are not automatically combined.
