Calgary ↔ Fort St. John · Freight hotshot
WTM Logistics provides priority hotshot transportation from Fort St. John to Calgary for prepared machining patterns, fit-check assemblies and other time-critical physical references. When a workshop needs the actual piece before it can proceed, a dedicated movement can support that production deadline. Define what must reach the workshop and when it is needed.

Identify the reference the machinist has requested
Confirm whether the workshop needs the complete assembly, a removable pattern or a specifically identified sample. Use its job reference and include the sender's instructions. The courier should collect the released item rather than choose which part best explains a technical problem.
Mark orientation or protected surfaces according to the owner's instructions. A reference component may have features that matter to the workshop even when they do not look important to someone handling the package.
Prepare a supported, identified load
Provide packed dimensions and gross weight, including the case or skid. Secure loose elements and identify accessories separately. Protect edges and reference surfaces with the packaging the owner considers suitable for transport.
Disclose residues, fluids or special contents before the movement is accepted. Used equipment should not be handed over as an unspecified ordinary crate. A clear load description lets WTM choose appropriate equipment and agree the handling scope.
Use the workshop's decision point as the deadline
A machining slot may depend on receipt before a particular setup begins. Ask the workshop for that useful receiving time and give WTM the confirmed release time in FSJ. The accepted transport plan should connect those facts.
A nonurgent sample sent only for a future quotation may suit courier service. This hotshot article concerns the case where the physical reference is needed for active work and a dedicated movement is justified.
Keep transport and technical decisions separate but connected
Approve the quote and payment in the Customer Portal, then follow the shipment with real-time GPS. Retain the POD against the workshop job number and keep the transport invoice accessible to the project team.
The workshop records its own fit checks, measurements and production decisions. WTM's delivery record does not substitute for those technical results. When the reference needs to return north with a finished part, obtain the new packed dimensions and ready time before arranging that leg. The completed fabrication may require different equipment from the reference that originally travelled south.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from sending a routine sample by courier?
The hotshot is a dedicated time-critical movement tied to an active workshop deadline. A flexible quotation sample may use ordinary courier service.
Can the reference return with the finished part?
Yes, under an agreed return quote using the combined packed load and confirmed release time.
