Calgary ↔ Fort St. John · Courier
WTM Logistics moves boxed project records and original drawings from Fort St. John to Calgary offices, archives and scanning providers. When a project closes or a document set needs digitising, the transport should preserve the organisation of the records. Book a defined collection with a named receiver and a package list that can be checked at delivery.

Treat the archive as a shipment with an index
Number each box and retain a list of its general contents. Use project codes or file ranges that your organisation understands without exposing confidential details on the outside. Record the total count separately from individual box numbers.
For example, an archive of eight boxes and two drawing tubes should be described as ten pieces. “Eight archive boxes” would leave the tubes outside the receiving count. A simple index helps the sender, courier and Calgary receiver recognise the complete handoff.
Keep drawings and cartons ready for the route
Use rigid protection for rolled drawings and reinforce cartons carrying heavy paper. Close the packages securely and remove obsolete address labels. Fragile originals may require a particular orientation or handling arrangement; describe it when requesting the quote.
A courier consignment can suit a manageable number of packages. A large archive consolidated onto pallets should be assessed as freight, with its loading and receiving arrangements included. WTM can move the request to an LTL option when the packed load calls for it.
Identify the authorised recipient
Send to the actual records room, scanning intake or office department. Confirm that the receiver expects the consignment and can sign for the counted packages. A courier delivering to general reception cannot establish that every file inside has been reviewed.
Your own document-control process should govern access, retention and destruction. WTM provides the transportation and delivery record, not an archive certification or a guarantee about a third party's processing of the contents.
Close the transportation record cleanly
Use the Customer Portal to request the move, approve the quote and follow GPS tracking. At receipt, have the destination compare the package count with your index and record any transport-related exceptions promptly.
Retain the POD and invoice with the archive-transfer reference. When original drawings must return to FSJ after scanning, arrange that leg using the ready date and updated packaging. A two-way plan is especially useful when the project team still needs access to the originals while the records are being digitised.
Frequently asked questions
Can drawings travel in tubes alongside archive boxes?
Yes. List the tubes separately, including their dimensions, so the vehicle and receiving count reflect every piece.
Does a signed POD verify every document inside?
No. It records the transportation handoff. Your sender and records provider should reconcile the document index separately.
Move from a quote to a trackable shipment
The WTM Customer Portal brings shipment requests, quote approval and online payment together. Use live GPS tracking during transport and retrieve the issued BOL, POD and invoice afterwards. Your history gives repeat shipments a useful reference.
WTM offers 10% off recurring shipments. A funded credit account separately offers up to 25% off eligible services. Confirm the applicable offer with your quote; the two offers are not automatically combined.
