WTM Logistics · Calgary–Fort McMurray · Northbound
When a Calgary food order grows into pallets, WTM can assess refrigerated LTL to Fort McMurray rather than treating it as an oversized courier booking. Provide the pallet measurements, product-specific transport conditions and unloading arrangement. The right service accounts for both the cold requirement and the way the freight physically occupies the vehicle.
Shared-capacity freight options · Pallet-by-pallet quoting · Agreed loading and receiving arrangements
Define each pallet as a complete shipping unit
Record length, width, loaded height and gross weight, including the pallet. State stacking restrictions and identify any packages protruding beyond the base. A price based on pallet count alone cannot describe a mixed load of short dense cases and tall delicate cartons.
Keep supplier and buyer references associated with the units. If several retailers receive separate pallets, list their addresses and receiving windows. One supplier release does not automatically mean one destination or one delivery record.
Specify compatible transport conditions
Provide the product owner’s required temperature and handling instructions. Do not mix chilled and frozen requirements under an undefined refrigerated label. Disclose any need for monitoring or temperature reports during the quotation process.
The supplier should prepare the goods and packaging for the agreed transport. Vehicle refrigeration supports the accepted journey; it is not being booked to complete production chilling or rectify a product’s earlier condition.
Confirm the unloading arrangement
Identify the Fort McMurray goods entrance, receiving contact and dock or forklift availability. For a site without unloading equipment, disclose that requirement before acceptance so WTM can assess an appropriate handling solution.
The receiving business should be ready to transfer accepted goods into its intended storage. A scheduled arrival does not itself provide storage space or an available receiving employee. Coordinate those responsibilities before the supplier releases the pallets.
Compare shared refrigerated freight with a dedicated option
LTL is appropriate where the load and timing fit the accepted shared service. A fixed urgent appointment or incompatible shipment requirement may call for dedicated refrigerated transportation instead. Ask for the comparison using the same load specification.
The Customer Portal supports quote review, approval, payment and issued documents. Match the BOL and POD to the retailer’s pallet allocation, and treat temperature evidence as a separately defined record. Request your refrigerated LTL quote with the completed pallet list and the actual cold-store receiving plan.
Keep the receiving team and accounts connected
Use the WTM Customer Portal to manage the request, quote approval and online payment. GPS visibility supports receiving coordination, while issued BOLs, PODs and invoices provide records for operations and accounts. Access previous shipments without rebuilding the history through email.
Save 10% on recurring shipments under the applicable arrangement. A funded credit account separately offers up to 25% off eligible services. Ask which offer applies to your quote; the two are not automatically combined.
