WTM Logistics · Calgary–Red Deer · Southbound

WTM can provide Red Deer to Calgary hotshot transport for prototype assemblies and tooling needed at an approval meeting or trial. The load should be the released version the receiving team expects, with its supporting pieces secured and identified. A direct transport plan helps protect the review schedule without presenting delivery as technical approval of the prototype.

Release a review-ready set

Use a clear project and revision reference. Confirm whether the shipment includes the prototype only or also fixtures, sample pieces, gauges and presentation accessories. List separate packages so the receiver can identify the full set at handoff.

Changes shortly before collection should be reflected in the manifest. A different base, extra case or revised assembly can change the package dimensions and handling needs even when the project name remains unchanged.

Package around how the assembly can travel

Secure moving or loose elements under the sender’s own engineering instructions. Protect finished surfaces and identify the orientation in which the prototype should be transported. Provide the external measurements and gross weight of each crate or case.

Tell WTM about batteries, special materials or other contents needing review. An experimental assembly should not be described as an ordinary box simply because it is small or because the final commercial product will be easy to ship.

Identify the meeting’s true delivery deadline

The team may need time to unload, unpack and check the set before the review begins. Ask the Calgary contact for the required receiving time, not only the meeting’s calendar start.

Specify the delivery entrance and authorised handoff person. A prototype destined for a workshop trial may not belong at office reception, while a display review may have a different receiving procedure. Dispatch needs that distinction when planning arrival.

Keep ownership and any return movement clear

Record which items belong to the sender and which will remain with the customer. If the review set must return to Red Deer, obtain its ready time after the session and request the return leg with an updated package count.

The WTM Customer Portal keeps the transport quote, payment and delivery records connected. GPS tracking helps the booking contact coordinate the incoming shipment. Design approval, trial results and commercial decisions remain in the project team’s own records.

Is prototype delivery the same as a production-parts hotshot?

The direct transport service may be similar, but the shipment brief differs: revisions, trial accessories, ownership and return requirements are especially important for a review set.

Can the vehicle wait while the meeting takes place?

Request any waiting arrangement explicitly. Its suitability and cost depend on the accepted service and should not be assumed from a one-way quote.

Prepare the approved review set and give WTM a receiving deadline that leaves the team time to get ready.

Keep the urgent delivery visible to your booking team

Review and approve your quote, make the applicable payment and follow the journey with real-time GPS in the WTM Customer Portal. Retrieve issued BOLs, PODs and invoices with the shipment history after the handoff.

Fund your shipping account for up to 25% off eligible services, or discuss the separate 10% recurring-shipment offer for a regular delivery arrangement.
