WTM Logistics · Calgary–Red Deer · Southbound
WTM can arrange refrigerated courier transport of prepared food-development samples from Red Deer to a Calgary receiving laboratory or product-development business. Agree the sample requirements with that receiver first, then provide the packed load, conditions and appointment details to WTM. This is a food-sample transport task, not an assumption that clinical, infectious or other regulated specimens are accepted on the same terms.

Let the receiver define the submission
Ask which containers, quantities and accompanying records are required. The laboratory or development team may use a submission number to match the parcel to the requested work. Include that reference with the shipment without asking the driver to explain or select the test.
The receiving business also determines its intake deadline and any restrictions on when samples can arrive. A courier booking does not reserve analytical capacity or establish the timing of the results.
Keep sample identities distinct
Prepare each sample under the food business’s own procedure and secure it in suitable outer packaging. Use unambiguous sample or batch references so different formulations do not become confused at intake.
List the number of outer transport packages separately from the number of samples inside. WTM needs to know the physical load it will handle; the laboratory needs the sample inventory. Both records matter, but they serve different purposes.
State the required transport conditions
Provide the agreed range or condition and disclose any requirement for temperature records. The booking should specify what evidence is needed rather than assume that a refrigerated vehicle produces the exact report the receiver expects.
If preservatives, refrigerants or any special materials are present, disclose them before acceptance. The sample’s everyday food origin does not automatically explain the transport requirements of the complete prepared package.
Close the handoff without overstating the evidence
Name the authorised intake desk and give a reachable contact. If the facility requires a particular chain-of-custody procedure, ask WTM to confirm the requested handling and records in advance. A routine POD should not be described as a specialised laboratory certification.
The sender can follow the shipment with GPS tracking and keep its delivery record with the submission. Test results, acceptance decisions and the interpretation of the sample remain with the laboratory or the relevant food business.
Can WTM carry an ordinary food sample for product development?
Submit the contents, packaging and condition requirements for a refrigerated quotation, together with the receiver’s acceptance instructions.
Does the courier decide whether the sample is suitable for testing?
No. The laboratory or development receiver sets and applies its sample-acceptance requirements. WTM handles the agreed transportation task.
Arrange the submission with the receiver and the journey with WTM so both parts of the sample plan are clear.
Keep the cold-delivery request and records together
Use the WTM Customer Portal for your request, quote approval, payment and shipment history. Real-time GPS shows the movement; issued BOLs, PODs and invoices remain with the shipment. Product-specific temperature reporting is a separate requirement to agree in the booking.
For repeat deliveries, WTM offers 10% off recurring shipments. Funded account credit separately offers up to 25% off eligible services; the applicable arrangement is shown in your quote.
