WTM Logistics · Calgary–Red Deer · Southbound
WTM can arrange temperature-controlled courier delivery of prepared produce boxes from the Red Deer area to Calgary food buyers. Identify the commodities, their transport instructions and the exact collection point before asking for a quote. A shipment from a rural packing location needs more detail than a farm name, and different produce items may need different conditions.

Build the load from the packed commodities
List the product groups, container types, box counts and gross weights. Use the supplier’s requirements for temperature, handling and any separation. Do not assume every fruit, vegetable or herb should travel under one generic chilled setting.
The boxes should be prepared for transport before the collection window. Inform WTM about ventilation needs and any packaging that should not be compressed. Palletised quantities may be better handled as refrigerated LTL rather than as many individual courier pieces.
Give the driver a practical packing-site handoff
Supply the accessible collection address or authorised entrance, a useful location pin and a person who can release the order. State whether loading happens at a packing shed, warehouse or other agreed location.
If the collection point is outside Red Deer, use that actual origin in the request. The last access road, loading method and ready time affect the job even when the onward destination is an ordinary Calgary business address.
Confirm the buyer can receive the quantity
A restaurant, specialty shop and distribution warehouse may require different appointments or unloading arrangements. Give the buyer’s order reference and nominated receiving contact. If the quantity changes after the quote, update both WTM and the buyer.
For multiple Calgary customers, the prepared load should show which boxes belong at each stop. Avoid presenting a combined harvest quantity as though the driver can make the customer’s allocations during delivery.
Keep the delivery record attached to the commercial order
The sender should retain product and batch details according to its own process. WTM’s POD confirms the agreed transport handoff; it is not a grading, quality or food-acceptance certificate. GPS tracking shows the consignment’s location, while any temperature records need their own agreed provision.
Repeat shipments can be planned from the normal harvest-release and buyer-receiving pattern. Keep room to report changes in crop, packaging and quantity rather than assuming last week’s specification is valid for the next dispatch.
Can WTM collect prepared boxes from a rural grower?
Yes, request the exact accessible collection point and provide the packed load, required conditions, ready time and loading arrangements.
Can all produce share one refrigerated setting?
Use the supplier’s commodity-specific instructions. WTM reviews the required conditions and compatibility before confirming the transportation arrangement.
Connect the grower’s prepared order with a Calgary buyer who is ready to receive it.
Keep the cold-delivery request and records together
Use the WTM Customer Portal for your request, quote approval, payment and shipment history. Real-time GPS shows the movement; issued BOLs, PODs and invoices remain with the shipment. Product-specific temperature reporting is a separate requirement to agree in the booking.
Fund your shipping account for up to 25% off eligible services, or discuss the separate 10% recurring-shipment offer for a regular delivery arrangement.
