WTM Logistics · LTL · Northbound
WTM can quote LTL collection of prepared crated workshop equipment from Granum or Fort Macleod for delivery to Calgary. This is an option for business equipment moving on a planned freight service rather than an urgent dedicated run. Supply the actual crate, origin access and unloading details so the load can be matched to suitable capacity.

Describe the equipment after packing
Measure the crate’s full external length, width and height. Include its skid, projecting handles or protective structure and give the gross shipping weight. The equipment’s catalogue dimensions may be substantially smaller than the packed load.
State whether the crate can be stacked and how it is intended to be lifted or handled. The sender should provide suitable packaging and supports. WTM’s transportation booking does not automatically include building a crate or preparing an unprotected machine for collection.
Establish the loading location
Use the address and entrance where the packed unit will be waiting. If the business operates from a rural yard, add clear access information, surfaces and any restrictions relevant to the vehicle. Name the person who can release the consignment.
Confirm loading equipment before the pickup window. A workshop that uses machinery internally may not have a way to load every transport vehicle. Request any tailgate or other handling arrangement in the quotation rather than leaving the issue until collection.
Identify the Calgary receiving workshop
Give the buyer, repairer or relocating business’s actual delivery point. It may be a service bay rather than its registered office. Provide the receiving appointment, available unloading resources and the contact expecting the crate.
For illustration, a southern workshop could ship a prepared crated bench machine to a Calgary branch on an agreed LTL service. The receiving staff can arrange unloading and its own installation separately. The shipment is not a removal-and-installation contract merely because equipment is changing premises.
Decide whether the freight deadline suits LTL
A planned relocation or non-urgent workshop order may fit shared-capacity freight. If the item is essential for an immediate repair slot, discuss hotshot transport using the same packed-load information. The deadline and handling jointly determine the appropriate service.
Use the freight documents to connect crate count, shipper, consignee and order reference. Keep them consistent with the physical load. The POD records the completed handoff, while the customer manages equipment inspection and technical acceptance afterwards.
Crated-freight questions
Can a single crate travel as LTL?
Yes. Provide its dimensions, weight, contents and access requirements for quotation.
Must the pickup be at a town-centre business?
No. Request the actual address so rural access and equipment suitability can be assessed before booking.
Keep the quote, pallet details and paperwork together
Manage your LTL request, quote approval and payment through the WTM Customer Portal. Track the shipment with real-time GPS visibility and find issued BOLs, PODs, invoices and historical shipments in your account. Update the packed load whenever quantities, dimensions or receiving requirements change.
Save 10% on recurring shipments. A funded credit account separately offers up to 25% off eligible services. Ask WTM which arrangement applies to your quote; the two offers are not combined.
Open the WTM Customer Portal. New customers can request an invitation at admin@wtmlogistics.com.
Book the shipment your business needs moved. Send WTM the route, packed load and required timing for a service-specific quote.
