WTM can move palletised packaging and new empty containers from Calgary suppliers to Lethbridge businesses by LTL. Cartons, trays and other packaging materials may be light relative to their volume, yet still require significant freight space. Quote the finished pallet footprint and height rather than relying only on the product’s low weight.

Measure bulk, not just the order value

A packaging order can expand quickly when cartons or containers are shipped assembled rather than nested. Ask the supplier how the goods will be packed for collection. Provide each pallet’s outside dimensions and gross weight after wrapping and securing.

State whether the load can carry freight above it. Lightweight packaging can be vulnerable to crushing, and a no-stack instruction affects the capacity the shipment occupies. Do not assume that a lightly weighted tall pallet costs or travels like a small dense skid.

Keep packaging clean and protected

The supplier should use appropriate wrapping or covers and secure the load against movement. Explain any handling or cleanliness requirement relevant to the intended packaging use. The receiving business determines its own acceptance checks and suitability for production.

For example, a Lethbridge manufacturer could receive several pallets of empty containers and corrugated cases. Each pallet should retain a clear supplier and item reference so the receiving team can place the stock in the right area without dismantling the consignment at the truck.

Tell dispatch how the receiver will unload

Confirm the destination dock, forklift availability or need for a tailgate-equipped arrangement. Include access restrictions and the receiving contact. If the load must be brought inside, explain the distance, surface and scope of that work when obtaining the quote.

A delivery to a small packing business may need different equipment from a warehouse dock. Physical unloading details matter even when the contents are not especially heavy. WTM plans the handoff using the actual site and pallet dimensions.

Choose the right scale of service

A few cartons of supplies can use the existing Calgary–Lethbridge packaging courier option. This article addresses pallet quantities using LTL freight. The distinction is the packed shipment and transport arrangement, not a change in the customer’s industry.

When production needs one urgent carton before the remainder, consider a separate priority movement while the pallets stay on their accepted service. Review the two complete quotes rather than automatically upgrading the entire order.

Packaging-freight questions

Can empty containers be shipped on a non-stackable pallet?

Yes. State that restriction with the full dimensions so the required space can be quoted.

Are returned used containers the same shipment type?

They need their own condition, packing and previous-use description. Do not substitute a new-packaging booking for an undeclared used-container return.

Keep the quote, pallet details and paperwork together
