Your WTM Customer Portal brings shipment documents and billing records into your account, so you can retrieve the paperwork connected with a delivery. Start by identifying the shipment, then access the BOL, POD or invoice relevant to your task as those documents become available.
A useful first question is: are you preparing goods for transport, confirming receipt or checking a charge? Each document answers a different question.
The bill of lading, or BOL, records the shipment details for the movement. WTM provides a printable BOL when it has been issued for the shipment.
Before handing over the goods, compare the document with what is actually being sent. Check the addresses, shipment identification and quantities. A printed document is only useful when it matches the goods and the agreed booking.
For example, adding a carton after the paperwork was prepared is a reason to contact WTM and have the shipment details addressed—not simply send the extra carton under an old description.
The POD records the completed delivery. Use it when you need to confirm that an order reached its destination and review the available receiving details.
A live tracking view and a POD serve different purposes. Tracking follows the shipment in transit. The POD is the delivery record you use afterwards, such as when a customer asks who received their order.
Match the document to the correct shipment before passing it to a colleague or customer. The date, destination and shipment reference help distinguish similar recurring deliveries.
The invoice records the charges raised for the shipment or applicable billing event. Access it through your account’s invoice records and compare it with the relevant quote and shipment information.
An invoice is not proof that the receiver accepted the goods, and a POD is not a payment receipt. For accounting work, collect the documents needed for the specific question rather than relying on whichever PDF is easiest to find.
Sign in to the WTM Customer Portal and identify the delivery in your shipment records. Confirm the destination and date. Access the available shipment documents, and use your invoice records for the related billing paperwork.
Save or print the issued documents you need. For a current shipment, some documents may not exist yet: the POD follows delivery and an invoice follows its issuance. A missing future-stage document is different from the wrong shipment record.
Provide the shipment reference, approximate date, pickup and delivery locations, and the document you need. That is more useful than “please send last week’s paperwork,” especially when several orders went to the same customer.
Use shipment history and available invoice records to locate previous work. Contact WTM with the shipment details when you need assistance finding the right record.
