The best collection point is the location that can hand over the correct, packed order on time. For one business that may be a retail store; for another it is a warehouse. WTM Logistics can arrange courier collection from the address you actually use to prepare and release the shipment.

This decision concerns where ready orders enter the courier journey. It does not require changing your entire warehousing arrangement before testing local delivery.

Compare readiness before comparing distance

A store close to the customer is not necessarily the better pickup point when its staff cannot pack the order before the required collection. A warehouse farther away may have the correct stock and a prepared handoff.

Use this planning comparison for each order type:

Collection questionStore preparationWarehouse preparation
Where is the confirmed stock?Check the actual item on handCheck the picked allocation
Who packs it?Name the staff member responsibleIdentify the dispatch team
Where does WTM collect?Agree a staff entrance or counterSpecify the shipping door or bay
What is the ready time?Allow for the store’s packing workUse the confirmed dispatch time

These are decisions to make with your own team, not assumptions about what every store or warehouse can provide.

Give one order a clear collection identity

When inventory is spread across locations, decide whether the order will be prepared in one place or split into separate shipments. Tell WTM which arrangement applies.

A customer buying two items does not automatically mean two courier pickups are useful. Compare the service and preparation requirements before choosing a split movement.

Request a quote with the actual collection point, destination and packed load.

Make the handoff work at the chosen location

At a store, keep the prepared order identifiable and nominate someone who can release it while other staff serve customers. At a warehouse, provide the dispatch reference and required collection entrance.

Give WTM a real ready time rather than the location’s general opening time. The driver should be collecting the packed consignment, not waiting for an internal decision about where the stock has gone.

Keep the customer promise connected to the courier booking

Use the WTM Customer Portal to request transport, review and approve the quote and manage payment. Follow shipment progress and retrieve the POD and invoice.

For a repeating collection pattern, discuss 10% off recurring shipments. Your account can support different origins while each request identifies where that particular order is ready.

Can we use both a store and a warehouse?

Yes. Give each shipment its actual origin and releasing contact. Avoid copying a previous pickup address without checking where the new order was packed.

Does opening a courier account mean outsourcing storage?

No. Courier collection and warehousing services are separate arrangements. Start with the service your current orders need.

Choose the ready-order handoff, then arrange the delivery. Call WTM at 587-316-2639.
