WTM Logistics · Refrigerated · Northbound

WTM can transport prepared refrigerated dairy orders from Lethbridge suppliers to Calgary café buyers. Use the service for sealed, labelled cartons and retail packs with a defined receiving plan. The supplier states the transport conditions, while the buyer arranges prompt receipt into its own cold-storage process.

Describe the finished dairy order

Identify the outer transport packages, including cartons, crates or covered containers. Provide gross weights and packed dimensions. Do not quote a shipment only by the number of bottles, tubs or retail units when the vehicle will handle several larger packages.

Keep the buyer’s purchase reference with the delivery. A sealed carton intended for one café should not be mixed with another location’s order without clear allocation. Disclose upright-only containers and any restriction on stacking before the equipment is assigned.

Agree the required condition and records

The product supplier should specify its transport range and any monitoring requirement. Different products or packaging formats may need different handling instructions. WTM evaluates those details as part of the booked refrigerated movement.

The CFIA food-safety programme guidance addresses food conveyances, suitable conditions and protected loading. Apply the supplier’s own controls when releasing the goods; this delivery article is not a product shelf-life or dairy-processing specification.

Arrange café receiving around actual storage access

A café’s front counter may be busy while its storage entrance is unstaffed. Give WTM the receiver, entry point and agreed delivery window. Tell the buyer how many packages to expect so space and receiving staff can be organised.

For example, two café branches could receive separately labelled orders within one agreed distribution plan. Each branch still needs an authorised handoff. If the driver would have to wait for staff to travel between branches, that must be considered before confirming the route.

Scale the transport when the order changes

A few sealed cartons may suit refrigerated courier service. A pallet or several large crates can need a 5-ton truck or refrigerated LTL. Describe the new load when volume grows rather than reusing an earlier parcel quote unchanged.

Returnable crates also need a separate plan. State their count and condition, and keep cleaning or sanitisation responsibilities with the appropriate food business. A transport return does not by itself prove that packaging is ready for reuse.

Dairy-delivery questions

Can delivery be made directly to a Calgary café?

Yes. Include its authorised receiving location, contact and product conditions in the quote request.

Does the courier open dairy packs to check the contents?

Routine transport does not include opening or repacking the supplier’s sealed food products. The receiver performs its own acceptance checks.

Keep the cold-shipment instructions with the request

Use the WTM Customer Portal to submit the load and required conditions, approve your quote and make payment. Follow shipment location with real-time GPS tracking and access issued BOLs, PODs, invoices and history. Any temperature-reporting requirement is agreed separately; location tracking is not a temperature record.
