WTM Logistics · Hotshot · Northbound
WTM can move a released rebuilt gearbox or drive assembly from Lethbridge to a Calgary receiver by dedicated hotshot. The transport begins when the workshop has completed its own work, checks and packing. Give WTM a real release time and a receiving team ready for the assembly, so a finished repair does not sit waiting for an avoidable collection trip.

Define when the workshop has released the unit
Ask the workshop to confirm that the assembly is ready for transport, not merely approaching completion. Obtain its release reference and contact. A final test, coating or packing step can affect the true pickup time.
Keep repair documents and identification with the consignment. The courier does not certify the rebuild or substitute a transport signature for the workshop’s technical release. The customer and repairer retain those records separately from the delivery evidence.
Protect the assembled unit as packed freight
Use a suitable crate, skid or support specified by the sender. Protect projecting shafts and fittings, prevent movement and disclose any restriction on orientation. Provide the packed dimensions and total weight, including the base and packaging.
Explain residual fluids and other transport-relevant conditions. A rebuilt assembly may be cleanly packaged yet still require specific preparation. The quotation should identify the actual load rather than assume that every gearbox can be carried on the same equipment.
Match unloading to the Calgary destination
Confirm whether the destination has a forklift, dock or other appropriate handling arrangement. A service bay may be expecting the part without having access for the arriving vehicle. Resolve that issue during booking, including any need for a tailgate-equipped truck.
For illustration, a plant maintenance team can nominate its goods-receiving staff to accept a crated drive assembly and move it internally for installation. The driver completes the booked unloading and handoff, not the plant’s machinery installation work.
Separate the replacement delivery from core recovery
The outgoing rebuilt assembly and a returning used core can have different dimensions, conditions and readiness. Describe a replacement-and-return arrangement explicitly if both are required. WTM can quote the expected wait and the second load instead of assuming that an exchange is immediate.
When the rebuilt unit is needed urgently, hotshot transport provides a direct option. A later non-urgent core return may be assessed separately for LTL. The two legs do not need identical service choices simply because they are part of one repair order.
Rebuilt-unit questions
Can the Calgary customer arrange collection from the repairer?
Yes. Confirm the workshop’s release authorisation and provide its contact and packed-load details.
Does the POD confirm that the rebuilt assembly works?
No. It records the delivery handoff. Performance and warranty matters remain with the customer and repairer.
