WTM Logistics · Hotshot · Northbound
WTM can move a prepared fabrication jig or trial assembly from Lethbridge to a Calgary workshop by dedicated hotshot. When fit-up or a production trial depends on a physical item, transport should be planned around the receiving workshop’s booked slot. Give the actual packed footprint and handling arrangement rather than a generic description such as steel parts.
Dedicated direct transport · 24/7 dispatch · GPS tracking
Identify the trial item and its release condition
Use the project, assembly or jig reference the receiving workshop expects. Ask the fabricator to confirm the item is released for transport after its own preparation and checks. Mark separate components so they can be reconciled with the sender’s list.
The transport booking does not approve the design or certify the assembly for use. Drawing revisions, tolerances and technical sign-off stay with the fabrication and engineering teams. WTM needs the transport-relevant details and the correct receiving contact.
Measure the whole assembly
Include protrusions, supports, protective packaging and any skid. A compact central frame may still have an awkward overall footprint. State whether the load can be stacked, must stay upright or requires protection for machined surfaces.
Provide gross weight and the intended loading method. Heavy or unbalanced pieces need suitable support and handling by the responsible site personnel. Do not assume that an urgent vehicle can accept an unprepared loose assembly simply because the main body fits inside it.
Reserve a practical workshop handoff
Confirm the Calgary entrance, access and unloading resources. A fit-up appointment may happen in one building while freight must first pass through a separate receiving area. Allow the customer to manage its own internal movement and preparation after delivery.
For example, a fabrication shop could send a supported trial assembly to a customer with a confirmed unloading window before a fitting session. The direct movement serves that transport deadline; it does not promise the result of the trial or the duration of the workshop work.
Quote later movements when the trial is complete
A successful fit-up may leave the item in Calgary, while another result could require return to the fabricator. Wait for the responsible team’s decision and describe the new consignment. Packaging or attachments may change after the trial.
If the return is no longer urgent, consider shared-capacity LTL freight where suitable. Service selection should follow the next deadline instead of automatically repeating the original hotshot.
Fabrication hotshot questions
Can a separate drawing pack travel with the assembly?
Yes. Secure it with the consignment and identify the correct revision for the receiver.
Does a dedicated vehicle include loading with site cranes or forklifts?
The loading responsibilities and equipment must be agreed in the quote. Site lifting work is not automatically included in a transport booking.
Follow the urgent movement from quote to delivery
Request your shipment and review the quote through the WTM Customer Portal. Once the booking is confirmed, follow the movement with real-time GPS tracking and find the issued shipment documents and invoice in your account. For immediate dispatch coordination, call the team directly.
Save 10% on recurring shipments. A funded credit account separately offers up to 25% off eligible services. Ask WTM which arrangement applies to your quote; the two offers are not combined.
Open the WTM Customer Portal. New customers can request an invitation at admin@wtmlogistics.com.
Book the shipment your business needs moved. Send WTM the route, packed load and required timing for a service-specific quote.
