Empty equipment cases often need to return after the delivered equipment has been unpacked and put into use. WTM Logistics can collect prepared protective cases from the receiving site and transport them back to the equipment owner or another authorised destination.
Request an empty-case return quote with the case count, measurements and release point. This is recovery of protective packaging after delivery, not transport of the equipment that originally travelled inside it.
The receiving team should finish unpacking and confirm which cases can leave. An equipment delivery time does not establish when staff will complete setup or release the packaging.
Name the person authorising collection and make sure that person knows which cases are being recovered. Do not assume a courier arriving later can identify them among other empty packaging stored at the site.
Keep the case labels or identifiers readable and list the pieces expected to return. Check whether foam inserts, dividers, covers or accessory compartments should remain with the case.
If a cable, tool or equipment accessory is still inside, disclose it and describe the actual shipment. Calling a case “empty” should mean the transport request accurately reflects what it contains. Your own inventory list should distinguish the case from the equipment left with the customer.
Empty protective cases can still be large or heavy. Provide the finished dimensions and weight, including a pallet where several cases are secured together. Explain stacking or orientation restrictions.
Close and secure lids, latches and removable sections before collection. WTM needs to know whether the return is a few manageable cases or a larger freight movement. Courier service, LTL freight or suitable truck equipment can then be considered on the actual package requirements.
The collection entrance may differ from the equipment receiving bay used earlier. Provide the current handoff location, contact and access window. If the original installer has departed, arrange release with a staff member who remains at the site.
For example, a facilities coordinator might hold the packed cases for collection after an installation team finishes. Put that person’s name and the case count in the request rather than relying on the courier to locate the installer.
They may return to the equipment owner, a rental business or a warehouse preparing the next dispatch. Confirm the destination and receiver. A case needed for another shipment may have its own return deadline even when there is no equipment inside it.
The WTM Customer Portal supports quote approval, payment and real-time GPS tracking. Retrieve the available POD after the return handoff and keep it with your case inventory record. Historical shipments help trace repeated case movements.
Only when it has been arranged as part of the agreed service. Otherwise, request the return collection separately once the cases are ready.
