Opening your first business courier account starts with a real shipment: what you are sending, where it will be collected and who will receive it. WTM Logistics helps Alberta startups turn those details into a quote, an agreed collection and a delivery record through the WTM Customer Portal.
You do not need to design an entire distribution operation before sending your first customer order. Start with a clear request and build a repeatable process from it.
Measure and weigh the packed shipment, not just the product. Record the number of cartons and make sure the destination is the delivery address rather than the customer’s billing address.
Confirm that someone can release the goods at collection and that the receiver knows a delivery is coming. For a home-based business, workshop or shared office, provide the actual entrance and contact—not only the building’s name.
Request a first-shipment quote before promising an arrival time to your buyer. WTM’s scheduled next-day service applies to shipments accepted for that service within its coverage; urgent requests can be assessed for the appropriate direct option.
Email admin@wtmlogistics.com to request access. WTM sends a secure invitation so you can establish your account and choose a password. Use the invited email address when signing in to the Customer Portal.
The account brings together shipment requests, quotes, approvals, payments and records. It gives you somewhere to return when order number two arrives, rather than starting from an empty email every time.
Read the origin, destination, packed quantity and service alongside the price. A quote for collection at your supplier is a different job from collection at your own shop. A customer who closes at noon needs a different receiving plan from a staffed warehouse open all afternoon.
Approve the correct quote and complete the required payment step. WTM then confirms the booking and collection arrangement. Keep your goods ready for that handoff.
Follow the shipment’s available GPS visibility and progress in your account. After the handoff, retrieve its proof of delivery and invoice. Store your own sales order reference with your business records so you can connect the product sale with its transportation.
Review what worked: packing, the collection contact and the receiving window. Reuse the accurate information in later requests, updating anything that has changed.
No fixed route needs to be assumed for your first request. Tell WTM whether you are trialling a product, shipping irregularly or preparing a repeat programme, and arrange the account around the work you actually have.
Discuss WTM’s 10% recurring-shipment offer or the separate prepaid credit-account option, which offers up to 25% off eligible services.
