Calgary ↔ Fort St. John · Refrigerated hotshot
WTM Logistics provides refrigerated hotshot transportation from Calgary to Fort St. John for temperature-sensitive shipments with an urgent delivery requirement. The service combines a dedicated movement with a defined temperature plan. It is different from booking an ordinary refrigerated courier run simply because the goods need to stay cold.

Begin with the cold load and the deadline
Tell WTM what is travelling, how it is packed and the required transport conditions. Then state when it will be released in Calgary and when the FSJ receiver needs it. These are the two parts of the service: suitable refrigeration and the agreed delivery commitment.
A restaurant replacement order, a short production batch and an urgent retail replenishment can all have different temperature needs. Use the supplier's product-specific instruction rather than asking for “a cold van” without a defined requirement.
Use the right vehicle for the prepared consignment
WTM has refrigerated Sprinters and refrigerated 5-ton equipment for suitable loads. Supply carton or pallet dimensions, gross weights, stacking restrictions and the loading arrangement. A compact order and a tall pallet may require different equipment even when both share the same temperature instruction.
Have the goods ready in their intended shipping condition. Vehicle selection should maintain the agreed transport conditions; it should not be used as a substitute for the sender's preparation or the receiver's storage arrangements.
Make dedicated transport earn its place
Use refrigerated hotshot when waiting for a planned departure does not fit the customer's deadline. The quote should identify the exclusive movement and the actual receiving commitment. Dispatch starts immediately after confirmation, with pickup timing based on the assigned equipment and collection location.
For a predictable weekly order, ask about scheduled refrigerated courier or freight instead. The existing Calgary–Fort St. John refrigerated route guide covers that broader service. Choosing dedicated urgency for the right shipment preserves a useful distinction between routine supply and urgent recovery.
Agree the handoff and the records
Confirm the receiving business, entrance, contact and ability to accept the load. Discuss any temperature-recording requirement before the booking is accepted. Real-time GPS shows the shipment's location; it does not replace product or vehicle-temperature evidence.
Approve the quotation and payment through the WTM Customer Portal. Follow the shipment, retrieve the issued POD and invoice, and retain the supplier's product records alongside them. The result is a direct cold movement with a defined purpose, rather than an emergency order supported only by a vague promise of speed.
Frequently asked questions
Is refrigerated hotshot the same as refrigerated courier?
No. Hotshot is an urgent dedicated movement. Refrigerated courier may use a planned service appropriate to less urgent orders.
Can WTM move a small chilled order by dedicated vehicle?
Yes. Provide its packed size, required conditions and deadline; urgency is not limited to large freight.
