Calgary ↔ Fort St. John · LTL

WTM Logistics moves suitable contractor material orders from Calgary to Fort St. John by LTL, with shipments planned around the quantities ready for each phase. A project may need several deliveries rather than one large arrival. The transport plan should show which prepared units belong to each release and who is ready to receive them.

Define the phase that is actually ready

Have the contractor and supplier agree the current release quantities. Identify pallets, crates and long pieces by the relevant project or phase reference. Items still awaiting approval should not be counted as ready freight simply because they appear on the overall purchase order.

Update the quote when the physical release changes. A phase containing two standard pallets differs from the same number of units after long materials or non-stackable crates have been added.

Measure and describe every transport unit

Provide complete external dimensions and gross weights, including supports and packaging. Separate long items from ordinary pallets on the list. Identify protection, orientation and stacking requirements so the vehicle space can be assessed realistically.

WTM can discuss other freight equipment when the load does not suit the requested LTL arrangement. The purpose is an appropriate movement for the prepared materials, not fitting every project item under one service label.

Arrange receiving for the phase, not the project address alone

A project can have different delivery points as work progresses. Confirm the FSJ receiving entrance, contact and unloading equipment for the current shipment. Include appointment times and any restrictions on where pallets can be handed over.

If materials go first to a local yard, name that yard as the destination. Do not treat a head-office address or a general project name as a substitute for the actual freight handoff location.

Keep recurring transport flexible but documented

Use the Customer Portal to request each phase, approve its quotation and follow GPS tracking. Retain the BOL, POD and invoice against the phase reference so purchasing and site teams can identify what has arrived.

For a consistent programme, WTM can discuss recurring transport and the applicable account offer. Changes in timing, destinations or load size still need to be reflected in each booking. A small urgent missing component may justify a separate hotshot rather than disrupting the planned LTL delivery of the remaining materials.

Frequently asked questions

Can one purchase order be delivered in several LTL phases?

Yes. Identify the released quantities, dimensions and receiving requirements for each movement.

Does a recurring arrangement allow any added materials automatically?

No. Update the packed load and service requirements so the quote and vehicle plan remain accurate.

Keep the next delivery easy to arrange

Start a request, review the quoted service and approve it through your WTM Customer Portal. Make payment online and follow the shipment with real-time GPS. Available BOLs, PODs and invoices stay connected with the shipment history.

WTM offers 10% off recurring shipments. A funded credit account separately offers up to 25% off eligible services. Confirm the applicable offer with your quote; the two offers are not automatically combined.
