WTM Logistics · Calgary–Fort McMurray · Northbound
The same parcel can need very different delivery arrangements depending on who receives it. WTM can quote Calgary-to-Fort-McMurray courier service to an office reception, business warehouse or agreed industrial receiving point. Decide the handoff before booking so a simple parcel movement does not become an unplanned site-access job.

Choose the receiving point that can complete the handoff
Ask the buyer where the goods will actually be accepted. A purchasing office may place the order while an operating team needs the package elsewhere. The location printed on a purchase order is not always a practical delivery destination.
| Receiving point | Detail to include in the request |
|---|---|
| Office reception | Unit, authorised signer and opening hours |
| Business warehouse | Goods entrance, order reference and receiving window |
| Industrial receiving point | Approved gate, site contact and access arrangements |
| Agreed meeting point | Exact location and person responsible for the handoff |
Avoid changing the destination after dispatch
Changing from a city office to a site outside the city can affect route time, vehicle suitability and the quote. Tell dispatch about the actual destination before shipment acceptance rather than adding it to a driver’s notes later.
If the destination is uncertain, resolve it with the buyer first. “Call the supervisor on arrival” is not a substitute for knowing where the vehicle can legally and practically enter.
Give the supplier a release instruction that matches the booking
Include the Calgary shipping counter, order number and ready time. Ensure the parcel is labelled for the same receiver that appears in the transport request. Remove obsolete labels when a carton is reused.
For multiple packages, identify the destination allocation. A shared office may receive orders for several departments; the transport labels should allow its staff to route each package correctly after accepting the delivery.
Measure success at the agreed endpoint
The POD records the accepted handoff. It does not demonstrate that an office subsequently forwarded the goods to a crew or that the equipment was put into use. Choose an endpoint that gives your business the control it actually requires.
Use the Customer Portal to keep the receiving instructions with the quote, track the movement and retrieve documents. When requesting repeat shipments, recheck access arrangements and contact names. A good receiving plan is more useful than a broad promise of “door-to-door” without identifying which door.

Is an office delivery the same service as a site-gate delivery?
