A branch-overstock return moves approved surplus goods from a business location back to its regional warehouse. WTM Logistics can arrange the transportation while your team decides which stock should return and records the inventory transfer.

The movement is different from delivering new replenishment to store shelves. The receiving warehouse needs to know what is coming back, why it is returning and how the packages relate to the transfer record.

Request a branch-stock return quote with the collection locations and authorised warehouse receiver.

Approve the stock transfer before packing

Identify the products, quantities and condition the warehouse has agreed to receive. Use an internal transfer or return reference that both the branch and warehouse recognise.

Keep customer returns, damaged stock and ordinary surplus separate. They may need different receiving decisions even when they travel to the same building.

Do not send unapproved items simply because there is room in a carton. The warehouse should be expecting the goods released for transport.

Pack a return the warehouse can reconcile

Prepare the goods for the journey and record the final outer-package count. Label each package with the branch and transfer reference, keeping detailed stock lists with the appropriate shipment.

For example, two branches returning the same product should retain separate branch references. That lets the warehouse assign the received stock correctly instead of guessing which carton belongs to which location.

Supply packed dimensions and weights. Palletised stock may need LTL service or suitable unloading arrangements rather than ordinary parcel handling.

Coordinate the branch collection points

Give WTM a release contact, physical pickup address and ready time for each branch. Keep the approved return area separate from goods still available for sale.

Where several branches are included, identify which packages belong to each stop. A multi-collection route should have a complete confirmed pickup list rather than additions discovered after the vehicle departs.

Include access instructions for shopping centres, shared premises or restricted receiving areas.

Confirm the warehouse’s return entrance

The warehouse may receive returns separately from supplier deliveries. Provide the authorised bay, receiving hours, appointment reference and contact.

Tell WTM the actual deadline where the transfer is linked to a stock count or redistribution plan. A desired accounting date should not be treated as evidence that goods have physically arrived.

Keep transport proof separate from inventory acceptance

Use the WTM Customer Portal for requests, quote approval and payment. Follow active shipments with live GPS tracking and retrieve the available POD and invoice.

The POD confirms the delivery handoff. The warehouse still checks quantities and condition before completing the inventory adjustment in your business system.

Regular branch-return movements can be discussed under the 10% recurring-shipment offer.

Can the vehicle collect returns while making deliveries?

Provide the combined requirements in advance so WTM can assess the route, vehicle space and package separation. An outbound delivery does not automatically include a return pickup.

Put surplus stock on a traceable return journey. Call 587-316-2639 to arrange WTM service.
