Freight brokerage questions

Clear answers before you book.

What does a freight broker do?

A freight broker arranges transportation between a shipper and a carrier. The operating carrier physically moves the freight. Ask which coordination services and responsibilities are included in your particular booking.

Is WTM a carrier or a freight broker?

WTM provides transportation services and added Canadian domestic freight brokerage on October 1, 2026. A shipment may use WTM-operated transport or be arranged with another carrier, depending on the confirmed service.

Can I request a quote for one pallet?

Yes—send us your one-pallet shipment details. Include what you’re shipping, the packed dimensions and weight, pickup and delivery locations, and your target date. We’ll review the shipment and available service options.

Which Canadian routes can WTM arrange?

Request a quote for your shipment within Canada by sharing the pickup and delivery locations. We’ll review your route, equipment needs and available capacity, then confirm the proposed service before you book.

Does using a broker cost more than booking directly?

It depends on the shipment and available offers. Compare the total quoted price and the services included. Ask whether brokerage compensation is included or separately listed. Neither a broker nor a direct carrier is automatically the cheapest option.

What if the delivery address has no loading dock?

Describe the available unloading equipment, packed unit weights and dimensions, vehicle access and receiving surface. A suitable tailgate or another unloading arrangement may be needed. It must be assessed and included in the booking.

How will I receive updates on a brokered shipment?

WTM will clarify your shipment contact, available update method and delivery-document process as part of the booking arrangement. Tracking options vary by service and operating carrier.

Is freight brokerage the same as customs brokerage?

No. Freight brokerage arranges transportation. Customs brokerage concerns customs entry and clearance. WTM’s service on this page is Canadian domestic freight brokerage.
