Choose one collection point everyone understands
The simplest accepted arrangement may be a prepared parcel handed over at a suitable lobby or entrance. If you need the courier to attend another point, explain that before the quote is approved. Do not book a basic lobby exchange and then assume collection from an upper floor is included.
Give the building name where useful, the correct entrance and a reachable phone number. Visitor parking rules, loading zones and locked entry systems should be disclosed so the handoff does not rely on the driver guessing where to stop.
Concierge release needs permission, not just a name
Ask the concierge or building staff whether they will hold and release your outgoing package. Tell them the carrier name, shipment reference and which package is involved. Supply the authorisation required by your building’s process.
Do not leave the parcel with an uninformed staff member or assume the courier may enter a secure room to locate it. The collection arrangement should identify a person or process that can actually release the shipment at the agreed time.
Describe any assistance you need
An apartment pickup can range from a small envelope to a heavy boxed appliance. Explain stairs, lifts, package weight and the distance from the package to the collection point. Suitable extra handling must be arranged; it is not automatically part of an ordinary parcel pickup.
| Your arrangement | What to tell dispatch |
|---|
| You will meet the driver | Entrance, contact and agreed handoff point |
| Concierge will release the parcel | Authorised staff process and shipment reference |
| Another resident will hand it over | Name, contact and permission to release |
| Item cannot safely be moved by you | Weight, access and required handling assistance |
Never attempt an unsafe lift simply to meet a collection window. Describe the problem while booking so an appropriate service can be assessed.
Make the outgoing parcel recognisable
Pack the contents for transport and identify the destination and shipment reference. Remove or cover obsolete shipping labels where appropriate so an old address does not confuse the new movement. Include all pieces in the request and mark a multi-box shipment consistently.
A building’s postal address may be adequate for ordinary mail while its courier entrance needs more detail. Supply both the proper address and the practical access instruction rather than replacing one with the other.
Keep pickup and delivery arrangements separate
The receiver may be at a house, a business or another apartment. Confirm that end too. A concierge authorised to release your outgoing parcel does not provide permission for a different building to accept it unattended.
Use the WTM quote form with your route, packed dimensions, weight and deadline. Existing customers can approve the quoted service and access shipment records in the Customer Portal.
Must I give the courier a building access code in the public form?
Share access information only through the agreed booking process and according to the building’s rules. Do not publish sensitive entry instructions in a public comment.
Does an apartment pickup mean the driver will come to my door?
Only when that scope has been agreed. Specify the floor, access and assistance required before booking.
Arrange a clear authorised handoff, and your apartment address becomes a workable collection point rather than an access puzzle.
