Calgary ↔ Fort St. John · Refrigerated hotshot

WTM Logistics helps customers plan refrigerated hotshot shipments from Fort St. John to Calgary when an order contains more than one temperature requirement. Chilled and frozen products should be described as separate groups before the quote is accepted. One delivery address does not automatically make every product suitable for the same transport conditions.

Build a temperature-group list

For each group, record the product description, package count, packed dimensions, weight and required transport instruction. Include the product owner's acceptable conditions rather than using broad labels such as “cold enough.” Identify which packages belong to which group on the loading information.

A buyer can then discuss whether the goods should travel separately or under another specifically accepted arrangement. Do not assume WTM has assigned a multi-zone vehicle just because a single quote request contains both chilled and frozen items.

Consider timing as well as temperature

The urgent part of the order may be one group rather than the complete consignment. Ask which products are needed first and whether the rest can use a planned service. Separating urgency can make the transport plan clearer without treating all stock as an emergency.

A single time-critical chilled carton and several nonurgent frozen cartons may call for two different bookings. The service should follow the customer's priorities and product requirements, not the order in which the cartons happen to stand at the origin.

Do not improvise packaging at pickup

Insulated packaging may have a defined role in a product owner's validated transport plan. It should not be added informally as a promise that incompatible requirements can share any vehicle. Describe the prepared packaging and its intended use before dispatch.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency's guidance places emphasis on transportation conditions appropriate to the food. WTM and the product owner should agree the actual arrangement rather than substitute a general assumption for the shipment's specific instructions.

Give Calgary receiving the same information

Tell the destination which product groups are arriving and where each should be handed over. Separate storage needs can affect how the receiving team stages the delivery. Include any required records with the booking and the supplier paperwork.

Use the Customer Portal for the quote decision, payment and GPS tracking. Keep location tracking distinct from temperature evidence. Once the service is complete, retain the POD and invoice alongside the product-group list so the receiving team can reconcile the movement against the plan it approved.

Frequently asked questions

Does one request guarantee a dual-temperature vehicle?

No. WTM confirms the accepted equipment and arrangement after reviewing each product group’s requirements.

Can we send only the urgent chilled portion first?

Yes. Identify the critical group and request a separate quote where that is the appropriate service plan.

Move from a quote to a trackable shipment

The WTM Customer Portal brings shipment requests, quote approval and online payment together. Use live GPS tracking during transport and retrieve the issued BOL, POD and invoice afterwards. Your history gives repeat shipments a useful reference.
