Small backorders can create more coordination work than a large planned purchase. WTM can arrange recurring Calgary-to-Fort-McMurray courier collections around prepared supplier releases. Build the routine around what is genuinely ready, which customer needs it and when it must arrive—not a standing assumption that every line on a purchase order can be collected.

Maintain a ready-order list rather than a wish list

Separate confirmed releases from items still awaiting stock. For each ready order, record the supplier, pickup point, release number, physical package count and receiving destination. Update that list before the collection is confirmed.

This helps avoid dispatching a vehicle for goods that exist only as an estimated arrival date in a supplier system. An automated purchasing notification can be useful, but a supplier’s actual release confirmation is what supports the pickup plan.

Set a rule for combining or separating orders

Decide which routine items can wait for the agreed collection and which exceptions need a separate direct movement. A missing component required for an active repair may have a different priority from replenishing shelf stock.

For an illustrative rule, a business might group confirmed routine orders while requiring supervisor approval for urgent exceptions. The rule is the buyer’s operating choice, not a WTM requirement. Giving dispatch that decision clearly can reduce repeated last-minute conversations.

Keep changes visible to both ends

If the supplier adds a box or changes its shipping counter, update the booking. If the Fort McMurray receiver is closed or moving inventory, revise the destination or date before collection. A recurring arrangement is a routine, not permission to ignore changed shipment details.

State temperature control, unusual shapes and palletised loads separately. Not all backorders belong in a standard parcel collection. WTM can match refrigerated, LTL or dedicated service where the changed load requires it.

Review the pattern with actual shipment history

Look at the orders you really send: frequency, package sizes, collection stops and urgency. That is a better basis for a recurring proposal than a promised volume unsupported by purchasing activity.

WTM offers 10% off recurring shipments under the applicable arrangement. Funded account credit offers up to 25% off eligible services separately; do not assume both reductions apply together. Use portal history, invoices and PODs to review your routine and request an arrangement that fits it.

Keep the receiving team and accounts connected

Use the WTM Customer Portal to manage the request, quote approval and online payment. GPS visibility supports receiving coordination, while issued BOLs, PODs and invoices provide records for operations and accounts. Access previous shipments without rebuilding the history through email.

Save 10% on recurring shipments under the applicable arrangement. A funded credit account separately offers up to 25% off eligible services. Ask which offer applies to your quote; the two are not automatically combined.
